About Me

For more than 30 years, I have provided seasoned guidance and solutions to individuals and families across the nation. I've built an advisory practice that doesn't sell products, only advice to help people make the most of their life and their money. Working exclusively as a fee-only fiduciary, I’m proud to be included in the select group of professionals that put client interests first – the way that it should be. My conflict-free approach isn't about investment returns or the sale of a product - it's about providing answers to your questions… solutions to your challenges… and exploring the possibilities to make life more.

I approach personal finances in a comprehensive manner addressing retirement, investments, taxes, cash flow, risk management, estate preservation and anything else that impacts one’s financial life. I help to sort through the information, misinformation, and confusion to help you make informed decisions. My role is to help you define the direction of your journey and achieve milestones, suggest changes in course when needed, and provide support for everything that life brings your way.

The foundation of a better financial planning experience is achievable with integrated strategies to help you build, protect, and carry on what's important. I call it commitment. You'll call it peace of mind.

What to expect in the first meeting

Seeking the advice and services of a financial advisor can be an intimidating process. How do you find the right financial professional to provide the advice you need? After all, there’s a bewildering array of titles: broker, adviser, planner, manager and even coach. Then there’s all the letters (RIA, CFP, CFA and so on) and numbers (Series 6, 7, 65 and 66) that represent certifications and licenses. In addition to the titles, letters, and numbers, there’s the method of compensation (fee-only, fee-based, commission) and the fiduciary vs. suitability discussion. There are advisors that just provide advice, some that sell products, and some that do both. Choosing the right financial professional is an important decision that has significant lifelong implications. How do you know which advisor is best for you? I appreciate the challenge of identifying the right advisor and the uncertainty of opening up about your goals, objectives, and concerns to a perfect stranger. For this reason, we offer a no-charge, no-obligation introductory consultation. You will have up to 60 minutes in your introductory consultation to discuss your life values, your goals, your objectives, and your concerns. During the discovery process, I will ask questions about various aspects of your life. If I’m going to help you, I first need to understand what you want to accomplish, what's important to you, and what you're concerned about. In addition to learning about you, the consultation is an opportunity to learn about how we operate, the types of services we offer, and how we've helped others in similar situations. I will address our background, approach, fee structure and any other questions you may have. I won’t ask you for financial statements or specific financial information – just an honest conversation about what you want to accomplish. At the end of our meeting, if I’m in a position to help you and a good fit, I’ll ask if you'd like us to prepare a written proposal and our engagement package; included will be details about what you can expect from working with us, our agreement, and the information we will need to start. It’s your decision if you want to proceed. No sales pitch, no obligation, no pressure. Our services and fee are tailored specifically to your needs. We only charge for advice and support. We don't sell financial products. We don't receive commissions for recommendations that we make, nor do we charge a fee based on your assets. We don't have any third-party relationships or outside associations that influence or restrict our ability to provide you advice and support in your best interest. We’re proud to be included in the very small percentage of true, conflict-free advisory firms. In summary, our role is to help you make informed decisions, achieve your objectives, and provide you with peace of mind. While we’re not right for everyone, the real question is: are we right for you? To make Wealthtender free for readers, we earn a nominal monthly fee from financial advisors and firms in exchange for providing access to the benefits described here (including being featured on this profile page), subject to these terms.
