About Andrew J. Tapparo, MSF, RICP®
Hello! Andy Tapparo here. Thank you for stopping by. I truly appreciate it.I was born, raised, and still live here on the North Shore of Boston. It's where my roots are.
I specialize in helping people plan for a comfortable retirement.
During my previous career, I watched people work diligently for decades, only to enter a retirement of lack and limitation. I knew it didn’t have to be that way and wanted to help people make sure that it didn't. That's why, back in 1997, I left my career at a major corporation and founded Tapparo Capital Management.
I was also motivated by a quote from Confucius - "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” You know what? He was absolutely right! I eagerly look forward to getting up every morning because I love what I do.
I get to help my clients establish and prioritize their goals because I believe strongly that these goals, needs, and wants build the necessary foundation for any tailored financial plan. After the foundation has been set, I develop personalized solutions and a tailored investment portfolio that optimizes my clients’ probability of achieving these goals.
As a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), I know that it’s not just about the destination, it’s about the journey as well. Whether traveling to the Outer Banks of North Carolina every year or preparing your path to retirement, I am always ready for the road ahead.
I am also frequently quoted in the media as a financial expert.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York and my Master of Science in Finance, with distinction, from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts. Prior to founding Tapparo Capital Management, I was a Strategic Planning Manager with Verizon Corporation for twelve years. I wasn't always lucky enough to be able to do what I love. As you can see, it took me a few years to discover my passion.
Specializing in retirement income planning, I have completed a comprehensive financial industry education program that includes estate and legacy planning techniques, portfolio assessment, Social Security claiming strategies, healthcare and long-term care cost containment, home equity strategies, and more at The American College of Financial Services and have been awarded the Retirement Income Certified Professional designation, RICP®.
Susan, my wife of 33 years, and I live in Topsfield, Massachusetts where we raised two beautiful daughters together. Besides my family and financial planning, my other love is being out on the open road. So if I am out of the office, you can probably find me embarking on yet another road trip. I also enjoy spending my free time volunteering at our local high school - Masconomet Regional High School. There I am the Varsity Girls Basketball team statistician as well as the team's webmaster. You can check out my handiwork here.

We Want Your Voice to be Heard
Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email support@wealthtender.com with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
