About Matthew Pogirski, CFP®, AAMS™
My name is Matthew Pogirski. After working for a national brokerage firm for 5 years, I decided to become an independent financial planner because I wanted my compensation to be tied to the plans I provided instead of any commission-based investments/products. I believe that having the compensation match my ethical obligations to put the client first is the best way to ensure your financial planner is fully putting your interests first.I love helping clients achieve their goals. I believe we best achieve your goals by seeking to fully understand what is most important to you and who God made you to be.
I will work to be your ultimate resource, guide and motivator - the one to help you uncover what matters most and help you seek God first. Your faith, family, goals and God given vision will guide me in designing and implementing best strategies to help you. We will meet regularly to help make sure we are on track. I enjoy working alongside you with a team that includes your legal and tax professionals.
I worked my way through college, graduating debt-free. I earned both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration. I received the AAMS™ (Accredited Asset Management Specialist) designation in 2020. I received my CFP® (Certified Financial Planner™) designation in 2024. I am continually studying to improve and deepen my knowledge to provide you with the highest level of service possible.
My wife, Karlee, and I are proud to be raising our family's third generation of Alaskans. Our son, Alex (6), and our daughter, Noyona (4), keep us very busy. In our spare time, we love to hike, camp, fish and travel. We are grateful to have both sides of our family here in Alaska and love serving our community with them. We are actively involved in our local church.
I chose the name for my firm from the following verses: "Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves. Matthew 11: 28-29 HCSB
I would love the opportunity to discuss these verses with you and rejoice in who Jesus is.
While we love Alaska, our home, and helping fellow Alaskans; I also help clients across the USA. I look forward to meeting with you and starting the process of helping you.

About Unburdened Financial Planning

An eternal mindset and biblical perspective form the foundation of my financial beliefs. With no products to sell or account minimums, I can work with all people and serve my clients as a fiduciary. Fiduciary duty entails always, not just some of the time, acting in the client's best interest, even if doing so is contrary to the firm's interest.

Wealthtender® is a trusted, independent financial directory and educational resource governed by our strict Editorial Policy, Integrity Standards, and Terms of Use. While we receive compensation from featured professionals (a natural conflict of interest), we always operate with integrity and transparency to earn your trust. We Want Your Voice to be Heard
Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email support@wealthtender.com with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
