Hi, I'm Josh Ross. I grew up on a farm near Beach, North Dakota as part of a family of seven. I've been a resident of Bismarck since graduating from the University of Mary with my finance degree and MBA.
During my earlier corporate career with a local Fortune 500 company, I enjoyed many financial conversations with pre-retirees. A recurring theme was advisors were handling their investments, but not as helpful with comprehensive retirement planning.
Energized Retirement Planners was formed to fill this void with a specialized team who provide retirement planning that includes not just investment management but also tax advice, cash flow, healthcare and estate strategies.
I believe tax planning is so important that I acquired my Enrolled Agent designation from the IRS to ensure my clients are able to maximize spending while minimizing expenses such as income tax, estate tax, probate fees and Medicare surcharges. We added tax preparation to become an all-in-one firm.
When I’m not assisting clients, my family loves attending school sports and activities or chauffeuring our two dogs, Mia and Brynn, to the river. In my down time, I’m lifting weights, riding mountain bike with friends or playing caddie for my son around the golf course. If you see a muddy red truck with two dogs hanging out the window, it might be me.

Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
