They did an incredible amount of work with us in the beginning sorting out our finances and helping us understand what we needed to do going forward. Since then, we check in with them regularly. They help us make good decisions and stay on track. We love their approach, which is very sensitive to the individual personalities and financial goals of their clients. It's not at all a one-size-fits-all strategy. I have been working with Sara and her team since 2018, but I met her during my divorce some years prior to that. At a difficult time in my life, in mediation meetings, I found her to be smart, and a calm voice with good judgment. So I reached out to her later to advise me. She has given me good counsel, with thoughtfulness and consideration and no judgment about the many things that I did not understand.
She has a great team, each of them have a particular area of expertise, so they can explain and provide structure to a process that I found intimidating and quite overwhelming. Very happy to have crossed paths with her 10 years ago!

Sara and the team have been extremely helpful for the last 7 years. As someone who is skeptical of financial advisors putting their clients interest first vs their own enrichment as advisors, we've found the relationship to be in line with what our expectations were. We never feel like we're asking dumb questions and time is always taken to explain a concept that we might not be familiar with. They are always available to field questions around the financial impact of life changes, decisions or investment opportunities. Sara and team have also brought other resources to us that help complete a bigger picture of our assets and their management by introducing trusted tax & estate professionals. Our overwhelmingly positive experience has also allowed us to recommend with confidence their services to friends and family (many of which are also now clients). The team is great!

About 3 years ago I was looking down the barrel of the biggest, scariest-ever change in my life. I was afraid to do what I needed to do because the financial unpredictability paralyzed me. I needed a compassionate, financial thought-partner. I needed someone who would work with me at sea level - take a hard look at my expenses and income - but who could also plan big-picture and long term. I needed someone who would be patient with my need to swing wildly between big decisions, because the stakes were high. I needed someone who would look at my money not as an opportunity to expand her fund, but as the limited resource it is to ensure my and my child's health and happiness. I met Sara in 2016 seeking guidance on a milestone financial decision. I was considering a corporate early retirement and buyout after a 30 year career. I did not know where to begin to assess the long term value of the offer vs letting go of a big salary. Her pragmatism, clarity and confidence were winners for me. In these 9+ years I'm pleased with the funds performances knowing I am fortunate to be with Cultivating Wealth. But it's never been just business. Sara and her team are colleagues and friends. I always found discussing personal financial information very intimidating, but Sara, Hana, and her team make you feel capable and supported. Their knowledge and guidance are extremely thorough, realistic, and reassuring. I also appreciate their effort to reach out to their client base, and meet face to face in this age of distant digital communication. I've been working with Liz for five years now, and I have made so many big, financial decisions with her help--I've sold a house, bought another, sold a different one, have had to decide what our budget is, what we can afford and can't, what is a responsible financial decision and not--every time I have needed help making one of these decisions, I've been able to talk things through with Liz--and talk them through again. Then, there is all the investing help too! I would very highly recommend Cultivating Wealth as financial advisors! From our initial meeting with Sara and Hana, it was clear that they were going to be very thorough in their approach to help us with our individual goals and address our concerns. We've had regular Zoom meetings every few months,, and the returns on our investment have actually been greater than we expected!
On top of the excellent financial planning, they’ve provided invaluable advice on the college application process, which has been incredibly helpful for us with our rising high school senior. And as a bonus, they host fantastic social networking events with excellent refreshments – it's a great way to connect with other clients!

I initially hired Cultivating Wealth to perform a one-time comprehensive assessment of my financial health--investments, estate planning, taxes, liability, etc. At the time my investments were being handled by a large bank with whom I'd been working for many years and I was hesitant to change that. But I was so impressed by the work my team at Cultivating Wealth did that I shifted my investments into their care within 6 months of our working together. Truly, I feel very fortunate to have them looking after my finances. They have taken the time to get to know me, my past and my present, and they have helped me immeasurably as I plan for the future. Remarkably, in early 2024, when surgery on my dominant hand made it impossible for me to gather the tax materials on my computer, one of my Cultivating Wealth advisors actually came to my home and sat with me for 3 hours, working on my laptop to gather the necessary documents. That's the kind of personal attention I know I would never have gotten from a larger firm. I am so grateful!

It's important to know that they do the foundational things well. But what separates Sara and the Cultivating Wealth team is the time they take to get to know you, your life situation (including challenges and accomplishments), and the level of interest and anxiety you have around your finances.
