About Alex Bethune, CFP®, CEPA®
Hi, I'm Alex Bethune, Founder and Senior Financial Advisor of Money Planning.I'm a CFP® professional and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®). I built Money Planning around a simple idea: financial planning should be accessible and transparent, not reserved for people who already have a large investment portfolio.
I work with young professionals and business owners to bring clarity to cash flow, equity compensation, employee benefits, taxes, and business transitions, offering subscription-based planning with no investment minimums so more people can get real, ongoing advice.
Before starting Money Planning, I worked in the financial services industry at firms including Ernst & Young Investment Advisers, Instrumental Wealth, and Provise Management Group, which gave me a broad view of how planning, benefits, and investment advice fit together for both individual clients and small business owners. That experience, combined with my CEPA training through the Exit Planning Institute, shapes how I help business owner clients think through cash flow, compensation, and eventual transition planning well before a sale or succession event is on the horizon.
I'm a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University (Class of 2015) and remain active in the FGCU Tampa alumni chapter, and I'm also a Group Leader with ProVisors, a professional referral community of attorneys, accountants, and other trusted advisors in the Tampa area. I'm based in Tampa, Florida, and I work with clients who want a straightforward, ongoing planning relationship rather than a one-time sales pitch.

About Money Planning
Money Planning is a Tampa, Florida-based financial planning firm, built to help young professionals and business owners align their money with their life goals.Who We Serve
We work primarily with young professionals and business owners who want clarity around their finances without needing a large investment account to get started. Our clients are often navigating equity compensation, employee benefits decisions, tax questions, cash flow planning, or an eventual business transition.
Our Services
Our planning engagements focus on the real-life issues that affect our clients most: cash flow management, evaluating and understanding equity compensation, reviewing employee benefits and plan documents, tax planning strategies, and business transition and exit planning for owners who are thinking ahead to a future sale or succession.
Transparent Pricing
We offer subscription-based planning with no investment minimums, so clients can access ongoing advice for a predictable recurring fee rather than being required to hand over a portfolio for management before we can work together.

We Want Your Voice to be Heard
Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email support@wealthtender.com with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
