About Janice Berner, CPA, CDFA

Janice Berner, CLTC, CPA, MBA, CDFA®**, is a Boston-based Financial Advisor specializing in divorce financial planning, high-net-worth wealth management, and long-term financial strategy. She serves clients throughout the greater Boston area—including Wakefield and Wellesley—as well as across Massachusetts, New England, Florida and multiple other states.

With more than 30 years of experience in finance, accounting, and wealth management, Janice brings a rare combination of analytical expertise and emotional insight. She helps divorcing individuals and their attorneys evaluate settlement options, model future financial scenarios, and understand the long-term implications of key decisions such as asset division. Her ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insight makes her a trusted resource for divorce planning, mediation, negotiation support, and post-divorce financial rebuilding.

In addition to her divorce services, Janice provides comprehensive wealth management and investment planning for high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners. Her approach integrates tax-aware strategies (supported by her CPA background), retirement planning, estate considerations, portfolio management, and multi-generational planning.

Across all engagements, Janice is known for:

▪️Clear, strategic financial analysis, divorce budgeting and cash flow

▪️Analysis of complex assets including closely held businesses; stock options and RSUs and private equity holdings

▪️A supportive, client-centered approach

▪️Strong collaboration with attorneys, mediators, and other advisors

▪️Long-term relationships built on trust, insight, and thoughtful guidance

Helping with decisions for our financial future

Trusting someone to help you with a very important part of your life is a priority to us. My husband and I always felt that saving was essential, as we are raising a family and want to set goals for our future finances. This was a struggle due to the fact that I am a nurse and my husband is an educator. Managing work, money and life, takes up most of our time. When we entered the market we tried our best to make valuable choices. This is when we met Janice. It was a chance meeting and we knew it would be a lot of work to organize our finances correctly. Janice is extremely knowledgeable, objective, trustworthy, and caring. Janice created a financial portfolio for us and we trust and respect her while knowing having a strong financial plan is a top goal of hers. We now have an advisor who is right there, by our side, helping with decisions for our financial future.

I truly can’t say enough about how lovely, helpful, and skilled Janice Berner is. I met her at the beginning of my lengthy divorce process, after 30 years of marriage. I had always trusted my husband to make the major financial decisions for our family and was pretty ignorant about what money we had and where it was. I was not in a good place emotionally and needed people in my life to help me get to a better place. Janice kindly and patiently offered me guidance and support, talking with my divorce lawyers as needed and explaining things to me each step of the way. Not only is she a capable professional, but she is also a warm and down-to-earth human being. We need more people like Janice in our lives!
