About Marc Lowe, CFP®
Hi, I’m Marc Lowe, CFP®, Founder of In The Money Retirement Planning. At 33, I decided to quit the mainstream finance world.
Early in my career, I lost a few businesses and decided to hone my skills in financial planning to create the business financial planner I needed back then. I was consistently approached by financial advisors who only wanted to manage a business retirement plan or extend me credit. They didn't have the ability to help with my biggest asset, my business. As time went on, the business I was in at 22, the restaurant business, had worn me down. The problem was that I needed someone in my corner to help me get out of this rut.
Someone to direct me on how much time I should be allocating to developing systems, reducing risk in key areas, and developing different cash flow scenarios so that I could see how to drive profitability to grow my business.
If only I had someone able to direct me before I ran into burnout, I would have kept the business going.
In The Money Retirement Planning was created to change that.
Today, I work with business owners and families who are within 15 years of retirement and want a comprehensive plan that helps drive value into their business and integrates it with their tax strategy & retirement investments.
As the Lead Advisor, I oversee all aspects of financial planning and investment management for my clients.
I help business owners:
▪️ Lower their lifetime tax burden
▪️ Reduce Risk within their business
▪️ Make informed decisions around cash flows for the business
▪️ Negotiate with lenders when their business hits hard times.
▪️ Build investment portfolios aligned with their retirement goals and risk tolerance.
My Philosophy
▪️ Planning is the foundation of a successful business.
▪️ Long-term success comes from small financial decisions made consistently over time.
▪️ Taxes are often the largest lifetime expense and should be managed proactively.
▪️ Investment management is only one piece of a successful retirement plan.
Before founding In The Money Retirement Planning, I was a financial advisor at Fisher Investments, where I managed relationships with more than 200 clients. Prior to Fisher, I worked with Charles Schwab's Advisory Services platform and in private wealth management at Spartan Capital. Those experiences shaped my planning-first approach and deepened my expertise in retirement planning and tax-efficient investing.
On a Personal Note
I'm a husband and father of three, active in youth sports mentorship and community involvement. In my free time, I enjoy boxing, basketball, golf, vinyl records, classic music, and Guyanese cuisine.

Our Services
Our services span financial planning and investment management, including retirement income planning, tax planning, business exit and succession planning, and business retirement plan design such as 401(k) and SEP IRA options. We take the time to understand each client's values, priorities, and life circumstances before making any recommendations, and we view investment management as part of a broader financial plan rather than a stand-alone service.
Transparent Pricing
We are a fee-only firm — we do not receive commissions, accept referral fees, or get paid to recommend one product over another. Pricing depends on the scope of the engagement, and clients only pay for the planning they actually need. If we manage your investments, we charge 0.75%–1.25% annually, billed quarterly, based on assets. For Financial Planning-Only clients: I bill a monthly subscription price ranging from $99-$1,000 based on the complexity of the plan.
Investment advisory services are offered through In The Money Retirement Planning LLC, a Registered Investment Adviser.

We Want Your Voice to be Heard
Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email support@wealthtender.com with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
