About Sonia Martinez-Trujillo, PE, CFM
Hi, I'm Sonia Martinez-Trujillo. I believe everyone deserves access to clear, honest financial advice, regardless of income or background.I'm a fee-only, fiduciary financial advisor. That means I don't earn commissions or sell products - Instead, I am legally and ethically required to act in your best interest.
Beyond that, my philosophy is simple: This is personal.
You are not a template. Your life, your family, and your goals are unique. My goal is to understand what matters most to you and build a plan that supports it.
As a licensed engineer, I also prioritize accuracy, optimization, and a high level of detail when planning.
My Story
I came to this beautiful country as a minor & was blessed to receive a full-ride scholarship to study engineering at the University of Texas-- Hook’ Em Horns!
After more than 10 fulfilling years in the engineering industry, I felt called to step away and focus on what matters most: more time with my three little ones, growing in my faith, and stepping into a new chapter as a fiduciary financial advisor.
I wasn’t always good with money. In 2014, my husband and I were earning more than ever, but stuck deep in debt. After my second child was born, I wanted to take a year off. I was working too many late nights, and I just missed my babies. But I couldn’t afford to. We had too many payments and not enough savings.
That's when I decided one day I’d use money to buy more time to spend with my family. I stopped using my paycheck to fund a lifestyle that didn’t make me happy and started making simple but life-changing decisions that have reshaped my life.
It took my husband Chris & I time and consistency, but we did it. Now I help my clients do the same.
Some are learning to budget for the first time. Others are earning more than they ever imagined and still feel stuck. I work with both and everyone in between. Because building wealth is not just about having more money but about creating the freedom to spend your time on what matters most.
Bilingual & Bicultural
I work with clients in both English and Spanish, whichever feels most like home. Because the best financial conversations happen when nothing gets lost in translation.
On a Personal Note
In my free time, I enjoy date nights with my husband Chris, playing boardgames with our three children, and volunteering in my community—whether that’s mentoring at-risk students, serving in my American Heritage Girls troop, or teaching math & personal finances to high schoolers. I also love worshiping and serving as a family at our home parish of St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic church.
I enjoy camping, hiking, and gardening. And while I have two dogs and two cats, I’m very much a dog person.

About Fiduciary Financial Advisors
I launched my practice through Fiduciary Financial Advisors to offer fee-only financial planning and asset management services for individuals and couples at every income level.Who I Work Best With
I work with people from many backgrounds, but I’m specially passionate about those who feel overlooked or underserved. I also understand what it’s like to be in a demanding career, late nights trying to meet deadlines and not having enough time to spend with the people you love. It’s easy for your own financial life to take a back seat.
I work best with people who see themselves in one (or more) of these:
♡ Individuals and families feeling stuck trading their time for money
♡ Spanish speakers searching for an unfiltered conversation*
♡ Detail-oriented engineers
♡ Families seeking multigenerational support for their children and their parents
♡ Catholic families looking to align their money with their faith
* My Spanish speaking clients will often bring their parents to our meetings so they can ask a question, their adult children so they can learn something, and maybe even their cousin who has a question about their business. Financial education often becomes a family affair, and I enjoy every minute of it.

Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email support@wealthtender.com with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
