About Me

Tim Eichhorn manages corporate and personal assets for clients of Rather & Kittrell. Tim is a graduate of Frostburg State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.

Tim joined Rather & Kittrell in 2004 after spending the first eight years of his career serving our country as an officer in the United States Marine Corps and then nine years in consulting and non-profit work. He spent nine months back on active duty in 2005 as an advisor for the US Marine Corps to Iraqi forces in the city of Fallujah.

Tim serves on the Board of Directors of the East Tennessee Veteran’s Memorial Association, chairs the Blount County Advisory Council of the Salvation Army, and as a member of the Blount County Audit Committee. Naturally, Tim serves as a member of the Board of Advisors and Governors for The Marine Corps Association.

Tim and his wife, Beth, have three grown children, Catherine, Caroline and Blake, and three granddaughters, Millie, Ellie, and Sydney.

Rather & Kittrell Capital Management is a Registered Investment Advisory firm. Lytle Rather and Chris Kittrell launched RK more than 20 years ago, based on the steadfast belief that “people come first.” In that time, a two-desk business has grown into an advisory firm that serves individuals, families, and businesses managing the transitions that inherently come with money.

I have known Tim (Ike!) for decades as he attended the Naval Academy with my brother-in-law. He is trustworthy, practical, and really listens and wants to know about not only my finance needs and goals but our family's plans for the future. I have always been nervous about "locking up" money in case we needed to access in case of emergency. Ike really convinced me that the plan he developed for our family would accommodate any life-changing event. As a business owner, he has also provided guidance and insight on other financial matters that are unrelated to R&K. Tim would watch me glaze over when my husband and I would meet with him about our investments. My husband was the business mind, I was just the arm candy. After my husband died, Tim came to my house to check on me and has continued to keep in touch. We now meet outside the office for our annual meeting, last time we walked my dog. I know he is the right person to handle my investments because my husband trusted him so much. They had a great rapport and Tim could give as much as he would take (my husband was a bit of a smart-ass) I see commercials for car lots and lawyers where the customer says that said car salesman or lawyer is like family and I gag when I see those commercials but I do consider Tim a friend and I know that he is the best person for handling my investments.

I first met Tim in 2011. I had recently moved to Knoxville and I was looking for a financial advisor to help me rollover funds from a previous employer's 401K into an IRA. I found Rather & Kittrell through listening to The Dave Ramsey program on the radio. Rather & Kittrell was an "Endorsed Local Provider". I contacted them and spoke with Tim. I was immediately comfortable with Tim and his personality, his financial knowledge and sensibility. He listened to my questions and explained things so that I had a clear idea for what to do. In 2014, I rolled over addition pension funds into the IRA to add to what I initially invested in 2011. Tim has done a wonderful job managing my retirement account. Tim is a man of great character. I trust him.

I was a resident of Knoxville, TN from 1999 until moving to Florida in 2010. I retired in 2005 and prior to retiring, I had invested in my company’s 401K, for 28 years. The financial company handling the investments was American Express. We had 8 choices and as I got closer to retire I went with a Conservative approach. Upon retirement, I had to make a choice of companies to use for an IRA. I looked at American Express, my local bank, and then remembering Dave Ramsey had an ENDORSED LOCAL PROVIDER in most cities, I located Rather and Kittrell. Even though we did not know each other personally, Lyle Rather and his family belonged to the same church. I contacted RK and had an appointment with Mr. Kittrell and Mr. Eichhorn in late December of 2004. I started working closely with Tim Eichhorn and after comparing the three programs, selected RK as our financial and visor and planner. 19 years later, I am happy to say that it was one one the best financial decisions I have ever made. Through ups and downs in the markets, Tim has kept our ship steady and has my complete faith and trust on all matters. Tim also helped guide our daughter through a very difficult time, financially and emotionally when she lost here husband at a very young age and with a 5year old daughter. He has continued to help her for the past 18 years. Today, I am grateful for RK and especially Tim, whom I am proud to call my friend.
