Education

Juris Doctor: Duke University School of Law; Master's in Tax Law: New York University School of Law; Bachelor of Arts, Economics and Political Science: University of Miami (FL)

Volunteer Experience

(1) Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, Tax Preparer: I prepared tax returns for low-income individuals and families. I also coordinated an additional site where volunteers prepared taxes for individuals with developmental disabilities and/or suffering from mental disorders who were being trained to enter the workforce. (2) Wills Drafting Clinic, Will Preparer: I worked with indigent families to make sure their wishes could be fulfilled even upon death or incapacity. This involved learning and understanding their needs, explaining relevant concepts to them, and construct appropriate documents including wills, living wills, and powers of attorney. (3) YMCA, Mentor: I co-mentored a group of at-risk youth, teaching them resiliency, communication, mindfulness, and other skills through research-backed curricula. (4) Chilis on Wheels, Organizer: Bay Area organizer focused on corporate, community, and volunteer outreach. Empowering people to play their part in the fight to end hunger and homelessness.
