Three Questions with Gabriel Shahin, CFP, MBA, AIF
We asked Gabriel Shahin, Principal and Founder of Falcon Wealth Planning, to answer a few questions to help us learn more about what sets his firm apart from other wealth managers.
Q: When describing what makes Falcon Wealth unique compared to other wealth management firms, what are a couple of the highlights you’re most proud to share with people evaluating your advisors?
Gabriel: We are comprehensive in the sense that we care more about increasing our client’s net worth versus just their investment portfolio.
We care about after-tax returns and increasing tax benefits for our clients through true comprehensive planning. There are times we create taxable events because it’s tax-free to do so. That is why we ask to look at our clients’ taxes because depending on their tax bracket we purposely sell something for them again and pay no taxes. In addition, we do conversions depending on the situation or strategy.

Q: Falcon Wealth specializes in offering comprehensive tax-planning services to its clients. Can you elaborate on the types of services you offer? Do you replace or complement your client’s tax accountant?
Gabriel: Similar to above, but specializing in business owners is big for us. We can restructure the entity or how they pay themselves to save money. These strategies can help save tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars. We normally complement the accountant but can also replace them if requested.
Q: You offer a free assessment for people who are considering hiring you. How do you recommend people prepare for this meeting to make the most of the discussion? Can you also describe what people can expect to receive as part of the assessment?
Gabriel: Yes, we offer 1 – 2 hours or 1-2 meetings of our time at no cost. We recommend bringing investment statements, tax returns, or any other important info they want to discuss. During the assessment, they get full recommendations without us reserving anything to back them into hiring us.
