Hi, I'm Dale Terwedo. When I founded my original practice in 1983 and then TFS Advisors in 2008, I had one goal - to bring confidence and clarity to my clients’ financial lives. As I worked with clients for over 38 years, it became apparent that the pre-retirement transition was often the most challenging both financially and emotionally. With so many moving parts, clients felt overwhelmed and fearful that they’d miss a key detail that could jeopardize the retirement lifestyle they’d been working toward.
As a way to expand my ability to positively impact my community, I became an Angel Flight volunteer pilot in 2001. Angel Flight is a non-profit charitable organization of pilots and volunteers who provide transportation to those who are financially distressed or have a time-critical medical condition. Few pilots in Washington State are Angel Flight Command Pilots. Through my connection with Angel Flight, I started to connect with other pilots in the Edmonds and greater Seattle area, and my community steadily expanded to include Boeing employees and executives.
Working with Boeing executives who are gearing up for retirement has been incredibly rewarding. Our team’s focus is to guide our Boeing clients to a mindset of abundance, and to help them leverage their many employee benefits and opportunities to create a retirement lifestyle they get excited about. Together, we set realistic expectations for retirement spending (which often exceed what our clients anticipated they’d be able to achieve through their savings!), put guardrails in place to help them stay on track financially, and align their goals and values with their wealth.
On a personal note, I married Tara in 1981. We have two sons: Ryan and Aaron. Terwedo family interests include camping, volunteering, church activities, and super oval racing, among other things.

About our Firm
At TFS Advisors, we plan for more than just your retirement. Our comprehensive approach empowers our clients to make financial decisions with confidence to move them toward their ideal future.
Together, we help our clients clarify their goals and create a financial strategy that helps them move toward the life they’ve always imagined for themselves.
With our background in retirement coaching and comprehensive financial planning, we’re able to connect with our clients over so much more than just the dollars and cents of their financial plan.
Our clients come from every walk of life, and live all over the country. They have big, exciting goals for themselves and their families, and are passionate about living life to the fullest. When they look for a financial planner, they’re seeking a lifelong collaborative partnership.
We pride ourselves in helping our clients from their mid-career to and through retirement. Clients often come to us looking for a partner in their financial life, and as the stress of career and life strains their calendar, they need a team they can count on. As they continue through their career, we help them to visualize their ideal retirement and navigate the transition to their next chapter with peace of mind.
Other clients come to us with only a few years until retirement (if they haven’t made the jump already!) and are in need of a team who can help them to clarify their goals, create a strategy for their retirement finances, and work toward leaving a legacy that’s meaningful to them.

Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
