When I was with 2 other brokerage companies, I would get a call from someone who said they were my new account manager and wanted to get caught up. Not at BMM. I am pretty hopeless with financial matters. I tend to buy high and sell low. I am so thankful that I hooked up with BMM when I did, in 2008. Through recession and good times they have been fabulous. Both Allen Harris and Scott Little. I mainly see Scott these days. He is a pleasure to talk to. We can talk about financial issues, family issues, you name it. He is always sympathetic to where I am, and what my comfort level is regarding risk etc. I can't recommend them too highly!

My husband, Jim, in his job as the director of a park district for many years, was researching a retirement plan for park employees and came across Berkshire Money Management. Jim saw that it was showing excellent gains and started contributing to that retirement account on a regular basis.

BMM has been in our family since the early days, when they were operating out of a storefront in a strip mall. Since then I have been through a divorce, the 2008 meltdown, and my father passing. And through it all, Scott Little has been my rock. He has such a calm demeanor and really understands the emotional component of investing. Besides that, the paltry sum I invested post-divorce has tripled in value. Even though I have been taking monthly withdrawals for years, my portfolio keeps increasing. Because of BMM, and especially Scott Little, I never worry about my investments.

BMM has been managing my portfolio for 15+ years. Scott Little and Alan Harris have did a great job keeping me out of trouble during the 2008-08 great financial crisis and other major market corrections along the way. I think the best compliment is they've maximized returns during bull markets and minimized losses during bear markets or severe corrections like '07-'08. Another unappreciated service is just being a sounding board for investment ideas and counseling me to take the longer term view of wealth building. Scott and team also offer a comprehensive wealth/retirement planning service that helps guide clients as they build for a sound financial future. I have benefitted greatly from this service and knowledge (which is provided to clients free of charge).

We’ve been working with Nate at BMM for just about 5 years now, and we couldn’t be more pleased with his advice on our financial retirement plan.
Nate took the time to get to know us and our desires for retirement and helped develop a financial plan that would lead us towards that.
He is knowledgeable about what’s going on in the market and factors that affect the market, as well as strategies to secure our best financial position. Nate went above and beyond to even advise on our 401K.

During that time, while I had an advisor, I was getting anxious because the folks who are actually managing my portfolio are faceless. I decided to think about consolidating. I have been with BMM, for just over two years, and I am extremely happy that I made the switch. Holly Simione, has always returned calls or emails quickly. Holly has answered and explained things that I didn’t understand, even if it took me a couple tries to understand, with patience.
When my dad passed, I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers, from BMM. This to me was so thoughtful, and made me realize, I am not just an account.
When I had invested my money with other investment firms previously, I never received a call to check in and see if I wanted to have an appointment to review my account.
I know that I made the right choice transferring my investments to BMM.

We highly recommend Berkshire Money Management. Two years ago we had a death in the family that went into a protracted probate. We knew we were in over our heads, and began a search for a financial planner who would help us navigate the process. After considerable homework, we found Berkshire Money Management. As I write this review my BMM personal financial advisor is Nate Tomkiewicz and in all truth of the five financial advisors I have had over the course of my investment career he outperforms the other four combined.
My journey with BMM began when I participated in one of their promotional events at which I was given an opportunity to meet with several of their advisors to ask questions and learn more about BMM investment strategy. It was a good session that ended with an offer by BMM to review my present portfolio and meet again to discuss potential improvements they had found, if any. This overview was offered purely as an academic endeavor. No fee or further obligation implied or stated. Well this was the first of many amazing moments with BMM. I am an engineer by trade and I live by empirical data. Here was a financial advisor saying, lets stop talking and let BMM do some work to demonstrate proficiency and performance. They reviewed my portfolio and true to their word they presented a list of actions with quite a few recommendations that I was free to pursue with my present financial advisor who had missed them. At this point I was a little stunned by these dealings with BMM. Here was the first financial advisor I had ever met who said what they did and did what they said. I made a decision right right then and there, moving forward BMM was going to manage my retirement savings and my partnership with Nate was born.
From this point on Nate and I met for frequent portfolio reviews. I never have to chase Nate down to get some of his time and attention, he chases me down. He engaged all aspects of every financial move we made with much attention to detail. By the time each of our sessions was at an end I had a clear list of action items he was going to pursue as well as what other BMM personnel would be doing. Together we worked on rolling over most of my 401K and consolidating into IRAs before I had even retired. It is a common occurrence for Nate to suggest making a move in such a way as to be most tax advantageous that never would have occurred to me. He is knowledgeable and has cutting-edge information at his fingertips. Recently I retired and just when I thought the surprises were over Nate sits me down and starts to discuss this new phase of my life and how hobbies and activities can enrich my life enjoyment. He just took off his advisor hat and seamlessly morphs into life coach. Another amazing BMM moment that had never happened with previous advisors.
I have to take this opportunity to mention Allen Harris and the BMM professional staff. We are living in some turbulent times and it is wonderful that BMMs goal is not only to create wealth but to preserve it. In his chats Allen always strives to calm the waters and take the long view. I appreciate his stability. Kudos to the folks behind the scenes like Zack, Lauren, Tammy, and others who are working to make me successful.

This is a superb financial advisory firm. I have been with them through the financial crisis and recessions. They were early providers of fee based services and efficient ETF investing through a transparent Schwab platform. Quarterly and as needed one on one conversations are the rule. Their research is top notch and over these years have resulted in solid performance, in part by muting downturns and staying invested in the best performing sectors. Not only the performance has improved but also the high-caliber personal attention received has been amazing. From estate and financial planning to tax strategy and others, the level of support and tailored solutions is second to none. I have been a client of BMM for 16 years. All of that time, Scott Little has been my primary contact, adviser and at times therapist. I can't say enough about Scott, his knowledge and his ability to relate financial goals with my personal family's needs. He is the only financial adviser/money manager that has ever talked me out of sending them additional money because he thought other options at that time were more viable to me than the current options in the market.
Obviously, during that time, the market has experienced great returns and tough patches. My portfolio has fluctuated along with those trends. There is no money management company that can 100% insulate you from the downward trends, but there are few that work as hard as Scott and BMM to protect you from the extremes. They use every option/tool available to them to your advantage. They aren't too proud to reverse course on their investments if the climate calls for it.
BMM offers far beyond the sound market advise and execution of my portfolio. When you are a client of theirs, you have access to an array of services at NO additional costs. BMM absorbs these costs for their clients. I have taken advantage of many of them, and as I age, I plan to use others as well. BMM paid for the Estate Planning Lawyer, who did an in-depth , well executed, Trust for my family. You learn very quickly during this process that a Will is simply a wish list, but the Trust is the playbook on the execution of the Will and so many more details beyond finances. If you haven't done a trust yet, and plan to pay on your own, these are typically $2K+.
I also use their inhouse financial planners to take a snapshot of my total finances versus my long term needs and goals. This is an in-depth look under the covers, with a corrective action, if needed. As my income changes, my investments fluctuate, and my goals adjust, I can reach back to the financial planning team to recreate a current plan for me.
If you are happy with your money management company, make sure they are doing more than picking stocks and funds for you. Make them work harder for you and your family, as BMM does for mine.

The list I made when I was looking for an advisor contained these priorities:
Trust
A firm that wouldn’t “assign” me to another manager
An advisor who was interested in goals in addition to returns.
Someone who could work with us in various stages of the market and of our lives.
Scott checked every box. He took my calls when the market dropped by a couple of thousand points and explained what was happening in the market, and the adjustments he had made to keep my investments stable. When I was in the middle of a divorce and very anxious about having enough to live comfortably, he was always no more than 5 minutes away. When I was retiring to a state I had never lived in and really had no idea what my 5 – 20-year plan could be Scott was right there. He worked with my attorneys in the North and in North Carolina to facilitate the changes needed.
I would happily recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy, smart, and community-minded advisor.

I've been with Berkshire money mgt since 2003 I first was just a subscriber to Alan Harris's news monthly letter called "The Navigator". I followed his investment advice and realized he was very knowledgeable about a slow steady hand for investing. He sold that publication and reached out to many of his subscribers to join his firm to manage my original company 401 k. I have been able to allow my investment to grow for the last 20 years. I am writing to strongly urge any reader who comes upon this review to consider putting your trust and investment resources to work with Berkshire Money Management.
I have over 22 years of experience with them in good times and bad ( I think I am client #12) and have an annualized performance rate of 9% to show for that time.
I am here because I prefer to make less in good markets while losing considerably less than others in bad markets, have the opportunity to work in a small and intimate environment with people who see clients as family, offer comprehensive financial planning services, trust and estate planning services and college planning at no cost but rather because its the necessary context for holistic investment management.
I and my family and close friends have found a level of peace of mind that I doubt can be found at a Fidelity or Chase , etc. You probably will as well.

I've been with BMM--and the newsletter by the founder, Allan Harris, before that--all beginning around 25 years ago. When the financial collapse of 2008 led to a huge drop in stock prices, my BMM portfolio's losses were half of that. Since then they have maintained my good status well and I'm now retired with enough money not to have to worry about it. They are good at being careful and not blindly following the crowd. To retirees like me and my wife, we cannot take too much risk with our retirement investments, and yet, we need to take a little risk to beat the inflation .
We have been with Bershire Money Management since 2003,All the money we take out every year to meet our expenses (and to satisfy our annual IRA RMD) has been from our investment gains. In other words, we never have to dig into our capital no matter it is a good or bad year for the stock market. Not only that, the average annual gains exceeds the amount of money we take out every year.
To retirees like us, we cannot ask for better and safe returns that Mr. Allen Harris and his colleagues of Bershire Money Management (BMM) are doing for us. We appreciate their investment skills and knowledge .
