About André Small, CFP®, MBA
Hi, I'm André Small. I have a true passion for finance and technology. With experience in financial planning, and a trusted guide for my clients, the work I do now looks different from where I started. I began as a Series 7 and 66 advisor managing client assets directly.
I hold a Series 66 license now, with the focus on providing advice that is in the best interest of my clients.
I hold the CFP® certification, an MBA in finance from the University of Houston–Victoria, and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from the University of Houston.
The leadership degree shows up more than people expect: a plan no one understands is a plan no one follows, so I teach through every engagement.
Fueled by faith and family. Proud husband, father, and son, based in Northeast Houston.
If you want a planner who will answer your questions without making you feel as if you should have known the answer already, let’s talk.

What to expect in the first meeting
Start with the “Book Intro Call” above to schedule a complimentary conversation. Plan for an hour, sometimes ninety minutes. Most of that time belongs to you. We cover the goals you want to reach and why reaching them carries weight in your life. I share where I can add value to your situation and how financial planning will benefit your situation. Bring recent statements or documents if you have them nearby. Nothing needs organizing beforehand. By the end, we will both know whether working together makes sense. If so, I send a planning agreement; for us to begin the planning process. No obligation either way.About A Small Investment, LLC
A Small Investment is an advice-only, fee-only financial planning firm in Houston. Most people reach out because they have built something meaningful and want a second opinion before making a decision that is hard to reverse:
retirement timing,
a liquidity event,
a tax question,
or whether the plan they already have still fits the life they want next.
You pay a flat fee, stated before the engagement begins. No commissions. No AUM fees. No product sales.
Your accounts can stay where they are currently, because my advice is not tied to you moving your accounts.
Who’s a good fit:
households building toward financial independence or a work optional life,
pre-retirees checking whether retirement is closer than they think,
and people with strong income spread across several accounts who want one person looking at the whole picture rather than four professionals each holding a piece.
Led by André Small, CFP®, MBA. In northeast Houston, serving clients virtually nationwide.

We Want Your Voice to be Heard
Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email support@wealthtender.com with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
