About Cathleen Tobin, CFP®, CCFC, RICP®
Moonbridge Financial Design is for women who want someone to walk with them on their financial journey. I am an only daughter raised by a single father who did not want me to have to depend on anyone financially. From a very early age I was taught how to save, manage cashflow, and invest. As an adult, I realized that not everyone –and particularly not girls – receives a consistent financial education at home. I became the go-to friend for personal finance questions.This passion for personal finance led me to advocate for women’s financial empowerment. I spent fifteen years consulting with banks to help them better serve women clients. It hit home that change comes slowly in the financial services industry, and that I could be much more effective – and happier – working directly with women who can see the life they want to live and want a collaborator to chart a path to get there.
I’ve put the work in to ensure I’m able to help clients through all major life stages:
• As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, I’ve been through a rigorous certification process. As a CFP®, I am a fiduciary. That means I can only act in the your best interest.
• I am also a Retirement Income Certified Planner (RICP®). A solid understanding of how to plan for retirement income is useful, whether you are decades away from retiring or transitioning to that phase.
• As a Certified College Financial Consultant (CCFC), I can help you put a plan in place to help you navigate funding your children’s education.
My journey has included life and work in India, Vietnam and other places, an MBA from Cornell University, several years on a trading floor right out of college and stops along the way that contribute to the life experience that I bring to each of you.
