About Matthew Schlanger, CPA, PFS
Hi, I’m Matthew Schlanger, CPA, PFS, Founder & Financial Advisor at Schlanger Financial.I started my career in tax and accounting, and I saw the same pattern over and over: clients had a tax preparer, an investment person, and maybe an insurance agent, but no one looking at the whole picture. Decisions about taxes, investments, cash flow, and retirement were being made in separate rooms. Schlanger Financial exists to bring those decisions together.
I work with business owners, high-earning professionals, families, and those approaching or in retirement. My clients typically want help with:
▪️ Building a long-term financial plan that ties together income, investments, and retirement goals
▪️ Proactive tax planning integrated into every financial decision
▪️ Business owner planning, including entity strategy, cash flow, and exit or succession considerations
▪️ Retirement income planning and preparing for the transition out of a career or business
My approach is built on ongoing relationships, not one-time transactions. Clients meet with me quarterly so their plan keeps pace with their life, their business, and changes in the tax code.
I hold a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Wyoming, am a licensed CPA in Colorado, and hold the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) credential from the AICPA, which recognizes CPAs with advanced expertise in financial planning. Schlanger Financial is a registered investment adviser with the state of Colorado.
I’m a Colorado native and live here with my wife and our two children. We are parishioners at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Highlands Ranch.
If you’re looking for an advisor who understands both the tax and the planning side of your finances, I’d welcome the chance to talk.

About Matthew P. Schlanger CPA
Schlanger Financial provides comprehensive financial planning and wealth management for business owners, high-earning professionals, families, and retirees in Colorado.Who We Serve
We work with business owners, high-earning professionals, families, and individuals approaching or in retirement who want their tax, investment, and long-term planning decisions coordinated under one advisor. We meet with clients in person at our Littleton office or virtually, by appointment.
What We Do
We build and maintain long-term financial plans that integrate investment management, retirement planning, and proactive tax planning. For business owners, that includes entity and compensation strategy, cash flow planning, and preparing for an eventual exit or succession. Ongoing planning is the core of our work, with quarterly meetings to keep each plan aligned with changing goals, markets, and tax law.
Why Work With Us
Most people have a tax professional and an investment advisor who rarely, if ever, talk to each other. As a CPA and Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), Matthew Schlanger brings both perspectives to every recommendation, so investment, retirement, and business decisions are made with their tax impact in view. We use modern planning technology to keep clients organized and informed, but the relationship comes first. Our goal is to be a trusted advisor across your business and personal finances, from growth strategy through retirement.

We Want Your Voice to be Heard
Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email support@wealthtender.com with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
