About Fisher Investments
January 2026
Fisher Investments is an independent, fee-only investment adviser serving clients across three principal business units: US Private Client, Institutional and Private Client International. Together, these groups serve a diverse global client base that includes corporations, public and multi-employer pension funds, foundations and endowments, governments and high net worth families. As of 9/30/2025, Fisher Investments and its affiliates manage over $362 billion globally—over $311 billion for private investors and $51 billion for institutional investors. Fisher Investments reviews each client’s unique financial situation to provide custom solutions designed to help achieve their long-term financial goals.
Fisher Investments was founded in 1979 by Ken Fisher, who served as CEO for 37 years and now serves as Executive Chairman and Co-Chief Investment Officer. Ken wrote the Forbes “Portfolio Strategy” column from 1984 through 2016, making him the longest continuously running columnist in the magazine’s history. He now writes monthly native language columns in major media organs around the world. In total, his 26 bespoke columns span more countries and more languages in more total reach than any other, non-syndicated columnist of any type ever. Ken has written 11 books—including 4 New York Times bestsellers—and appears regularly on major TV news like Fox News, Fox Business, Sky News (UK and Australia), BNN Bloomberg, CNN International, and the BBC.

How does Fisher Investments deliver personalized client service?
Clients receive personalized service from Investment Counselors (ICs), who know clients by name and understand their financial goals and situation. We contact clients regularly, but not to sell some new product. We’ve separated sales and service roles to help minimize conflicts of interest commonly found in our industry. Our ICs act as liaisons to Fisher Investments’ five-member Investment Policy Committee (IPC)—which has over 150 combined years of industry experience—and are there to update clients on their portfolios and support them on their journey to achieve their financial goals.
Does Fisher Investments personalize client portfolios?
Yes. Investment success is personal—we believe portfolios should be too. Fisher Investments reviews each client’s unique financial situation before implementing a tailored investment plan designed to reach their goals. We can also accommodate specific mandates and have over two decades’ experience building portfolios that reflect their preferences, while helping them achieve their investment goals.
Does Fisher Investments use static, “cookie-cutter” investment strategies?
No. Unlike some money managers that focus on narrow market categories that may move in and out of favor, Fisher Investments reviews and adjusts our clients’ investment strategies to align with our forward-looking views. No money manager is correct every time, but we believe the lessons learned from managing investments through many market cycles provide us with invaluable insight.
What does Fisher Investments’ fiduciary obligation mean for clients?
As a fiduciary, Fisher Investments owes our clients a duty of care and a duty of loyalty. That means we always act in the interests of our clients, and that we place our clients’ interests above our own. Not everyone providing financial advice is a fiduciary. For example, broker-dealers are held to the “best interest” standard, which only requires them to act in the best interests of customers when making financial recommendations. This falls short of the continuous fiduciary duty that investment advisers like Fisher Investments owe their clients.
What are Fisher Investments’ fees and are the fees transparent?
Our clients pay an easy-to-understand fee based on their assets under management (AUM), which we believe helps align our interests with those of our clients. With our simple, transparent fee structure, we do better when our clients do better.
We believe clients deserve simplicity and transparency when it comes to the fees they pay. That’s why Fisher Investments reviews our fees with clients before they hire us. We don’t charge hidden or layered fees and, unlike many brokers, our incentive is not to “churn” client accounts. We don’t earn commissions on trades, and any transaction costs are paid by clients directly to a third-party custodian.
How does Fisher Investments compare to a robo advisor?
Robo advisors are often touted as a cheaper alternative to an investment adviser. However, in our view, investors typically get what they pay for. Robo advisors rely on algorithms to review financial plans and generate automated portfolio allocations based on responses to surface-level online questionnaires that only consider age, planned retirement date, “risk tolerance,” objectives and similar cookie-cutter factors. On the other hand, attentive investment advisers develop relationships with their clients, create investment plans that match their needs, counsel them through the market’s ups and downs and may even be able to help navigate changing market conditions through active investment management strategies. Online questionnaires can’t capture the nuance of these discussions—the human element is irreplaceable. We believe investment advisers like Fisher Investments can help investors reach their long-term financial goals by offering a level of service and support which robo advisors can’t match.
What is the minimum to become a client?
Fisher Investments focuses on high net worth individuals with assets of $1,000,000 or more. Our clients have worked hard throughout their lives, and we’re dedicated to serving them with investing advice, tailored solutions and ongoing support.

Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
