About Me

Hi, I'm Angie Furubotten-LaRosee.

When I think of all the things I want out of life, it really is a very short list. I want to have a sense of gratitude and purpose, and to surround myself with people I have a deep connection to, both in my personal and professional life.

Financial stuff can be very numbers focused, but I think the real value comes from deeply understanding people, what drives them to get up every day, what’s holding them back, what are things we can do together to make our lives and the lives of those we touch, just a little better, a little more secure, a little more pleasant.

I try to learn new things every day and I’m realizing that coming from a place of abundance, trying not to sweat the small stuff and as I was told recently, to keep “chip, chip, chip, chipping away” at the things that are important to me, "success" and a "rich life" is achievable on many levels. These are the same things I want for my clients and their families.

When I think of myself, I am a complex mixture of adventurous risk-taker and conventionalist.

I married someone I met in kindergarten and we have two wonderful young-adult sons. I've lived on my own abroad (Japan and France) for about 6 years of my life but now live in the familiar comfort of the same Pasco house I was raised in. I have studied 4 languages but unfortunately, really only use English. I have traveled solo to over 35 countries but also very much enjoy my own back yard and the beauty of our Tri-City rivers and surrounding wine country.

My parents came to the Tri-Cities, Washington from the midwest in the '60s, following jobs working on the Lower Monumental Dam and the Hanford project. They laid down roots for our family of 5. From my mom and dad's humble beginnings, they flourished here in the sun-filled desert region of Southeastern Washington. An engineer and a school district secretary, my folks lived a frugal, self-sufficient life on their acre in Pasco. The lessons and values they taught me carry on in the way we live and raise our kids today.

With a backpack over my shoulder, I knew that life would take me to far away, adventurous places, but I also knew that having money, saving, and being secure were very important to me too. I’m a UW Husky surrounded by WSU Cougars, and I’m OK with that.

In 2006, our kids were 3 and 5 when I started studying to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. I always imagined working just like I am, as a fiduciary, answering only to my clients and no one else. It’s been many years since I started working in this industry, but finance has been a part of my entire life. Our family too has experienced many of the challenges that my clients face in trying to achieve conflicting goals; paying for college, being retirement ready, starting a business, travel, owning real estate, enjoying life today but planning for a secure tomorrow. Over time, our family has managed to consistently build wealth and security and I’m delighted to share my knowledge and expertise to support your success. If you are ready to be the hero and take your family’s financial life to and through retirement, let me help you get there.

I am a proud member of the XY Planning Network, National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), Fee-Only Network. A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional since 2011.

About our Firm

Avea Financial Planning is different from most financial advisory firms. That’s because we do fee-only planning. We don’t sell products or earn commissions. Instead, we charge a flat fee in exchange for advice from a CFP®.

We are big fans of the F word.

✅ Fiduciary... a fiduciary has a duty of utmost good faith to act solely in the best interests of each client

✅ Fee-Only... compensation solely from the fees clients pay for services

✅ Flat Fee... a fee not based on assets

✅ Focused on Taxes... decisions based on making your life better but with an eye for taxes too

Experienced... while not an F word, with over 16 years in financial services and a team of experts in their fields, we come with the experience you demand and deserve
