About Bob Burger, CFP®
Hi, I'm Bob Burger, Founder of Disciplined Money. My focus is on serving financial planning clients via an hourly fee-only model. I feel this is the best way to serve your needs without making you agree to services you don’t want (or need).
I founded Disciplined Money after working for Schwab and multiple fee-only (AUM model) financial planning firms. Throughout that journey, I completed the Retirement Management Analyst designation, the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designation and completed level one of the Certified Financial Analyst designation. I haven’t maintained these designations for various reasons (mostly cost - which gets passed to you).
I continue to maintain the Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation and I am a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the primary Fee-Only Association.
If you want to learn more about my background or talk about your situation, let’s schedule a time to talk.

About Disciplined Money
Disciplined Money is a fee-only financial planning firm based in Phoenix, Arizona, serving clients on an hourly basis rather than charging a percentage of assets under management. Our Philosophy
We believe an hourly model is the best way to serve clients in a fiduciary capacity. Most Fee-Only Financial Planning firms require an account minimum, often $1,000,000 or more of invested assets. We built Disciplined Money to serve families who have historically been ignored, overcharged, or sold to, without an account minimum and without the conflict of commissioned products.
Who We Serve
Most of our clients were making good money decisions before they started working with us. They aren't looking for a crystal ball or a stock tip — they want clarity and confidence about their financial future, and they recognize that choices around cash flow and taxes often matter more than picking the 'right' investment. Over half of our planning clients continue managing their own assets after working with us, with increased confidence.
Transparent Pricing
Our fee structure is simple: our hourly rate is $250 per hour, and we do not earn income from any other source. Initial planning fees are typically based on six to ten hours of work, and ongoing investment management, if elected, is also billed hourly rather than as a percentage of assets — typically $500 to $1,000 per quarter. Because of the hourly model, we do not have an account minimum.

We Want Your Voice to be Heard
Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email support@wealthtender.com with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
