About Darlene Pedrosa, CFP®
I’m Darlene Pedrosa, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Enrolled Agent, and owner of Pedrosa Wealth Management & Rhinebeck Tax in Rhinebeck, New York. I help individuals and families coordinate financial planning, investment management, retirement planning, and tax strategy through some of life’s most important transitions. My practice focuses on widows, women navigating divorce or other financial changes, people approaching retirement, and retirees. I also work with individuals who have inherited money and adult children helping a widowed parent organize financial decisions.
Based in Rhinebeck, I serve clients throughout the Hudson Valley, including Red Hook, Kingston, Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, Millbrook, and New Paltz. Virtual meetings are available for clients beyond the local area.
Financial Guidance Through Life’s Transitions
Losing a spouse, preparing to retire, or receiving an inheritance can bring financial questions alongside emotional uncertainty. You may be wondering what needs attention first, how to manage your investments, or whether you can comfortably spend the money you have worked hard to save.
My approach begins with listening. Together, we organize your financial picture, clarify your priorities, and build a personalized plan that helps you make informed decisions at a pace that feels manageable.
Depending on your needs, our work may include:
- **Financial planning after the loss of a spouse:** Organizing accounts, reviewing income and expenses, evaluating beneficiary designations, and coordinating with your tax and legal professionals.
- **Retirement planning:** Connecting your savings, investments, pensions, and Social Security decisions with your retirement goals.
- **Retirement income planning:** Developing a withdrawal strategy that considers spending needs, taxes, and the long-term role of your investments.
- **Investment management:** Aligning your portfolio with your goals, time horizon, risk tolerance, and changing circumstances.
- **Tax-aware planning:** Evaluating how investment and retirement decisions affect your broader tax picture, including potential Roth conversions and required minimum distributions.
- **Inherited wealth planning:** Helping you understand your options and organize decisions before making significant financial changes.
Connecting Financial Planning and Tax Strategy
My CFP® certification and Enrolled Agent credential bring complementary perspectives to financial planning. As an Enrolled Agent, I am federally authorized to represent taxpayers before the IRS.
This background helps me consider the tax implications of financial decisions alongside your retirement needs, investment goals, and family priorities. My goal is to help you understand how the pieces fit together so you can move forward with greater clarity.
Education and Professional Background
I have more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry. My education includes dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and International Business from SUNY New Paltz and an Advanced Financial Planning Certificate from Bryant University.
I hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and Enrolled Agent credential, along with Series 6, 7, 63, and 66 registrations through LPL Financial and life and health insurance licenses.
Rooted in the Hudson Valley Community
Outside my professional work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Antonio, and our children, strength training, reading, continuing my education, and participating in our local church and community.
Building lasting relationships matters to me in my community and in my practice. I value the opportunity to support individuals and families across generations.

About Pedrosa Wealth Management
What makes my approach differentMost people in transition already have an estate attorney, a CPA, and possibly an insurance agent. The problem is those professionals are each seeing one piece of the picture. I gather what each advisor has done, map the gaps, and create one coordinated financial plan so nothing falls through the cracks and your team is working in harmony.
I also believe in taking the time to truly understand your situation before offering any recommendations. There's no one-size-fits-all plan here. Whether you've inherited $50,000 or $2 million, whether you're 45 or 75, whether you have advisors in place or you're starting from scratch we begin with what's real for you.
What clients can expect working with me
From our very first conversation, I aim to make a complex process feel manageable. We'll start by organizing what you have, identifying any urgent decisions that need attention, and separating those from the ones that can wait. From there, I'll build a comprehensive financial plan that accounts for your income, your goals, your estate documents, and your tax situation — all reviewed together, not in silos.
I work with clients throughout the Hudson Valley as well as nationwide and I'm affiliated with LPL Financial.
If you've recently lost a spouse or a parent and aren't sure where to start financially, I'd love to talk. The first conversation is always free, and it starts with listening.

Volunteer Experience
I participated in two service projects in El Salvador for an orphanage. We helped several churches and schools as well as the orphanage by running programs with the kids and doing building maintenance. I co-chair the End Hunger Initiative though my local Rotary club to help bring awareness, organize food drives, and raise funds for the food insecure. I also provide free educational workshops at the local library. I volunteer for the local hospital’s breast cancer fundraising month to raise money for their breast cancer center and survivor support programs. I volunteer as a community audit committee member at Ulster County Boces.

We Want Your Voice to be Heard
Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email support@wealthtender.com with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
