I retired frim my IT job 6 years ago, and became a client oj Gerry Barasso’s a few months after that. Having worked for a university for the last 20 years af my career, most of my savings was held in a 403b with a large firm best known for providing retirement plans for educational, medical, and research institutions.
In addition to my 403b, my parents had also left me money in a variety of holdings; annuities, cds, bonds…ugh. Of course I was grateful for it all, but as one with NO knowledge of how it all works (tax implications, maturity dates and penalties, rollover options, on and on) it started to look like a rat’s nest to me, and I wanted to consolidate as much as I could. Gerry helped me do this, as well as help me navigate the termination of my employer’s retirement plan and create my private accounts. He continues to help me to this day.
As others have said and, no doubt, others will say after me, Gerry is a straight talking, easy going guy. He is patent, knowledgeable, and, judging by where I am financially, he is a competent investor.
And I trust him to do the right thing. As a fiduciary, he is bound by law to act in his clients’ best interests. Even if he wasn’t I get the feeling he would anyway.
I couldn’t be happier, and highly recommend him. Ditto for his more than capable staff at United Financial Planning Group.
