About Me

Hi, I'm Jason Gilbert. I'm the founder and Managing Partner at RGA Investment Advisors LLC, an independent and fee-only registered investment advisor (RIA) and GIPS Verified Asset Manager (verification letters can be found at www.rgaia.com). Our firm builds client portfolios with a low turnover, long-term investment strategy focused on identifying fundamentally attractive securities.

Through our Soundview family of funds, we manage a range of private funds that provide accredited investors access to exclusive, high-potential investment opportunities, often not available in traditional public markets. Through these carefully curated partnerships, we leverage our extensive network to internally source and manage unique investments. Our goal is to deliver enhanced returns and portfolio diversification for those seeking to elevate their investment strategy.

Prior to founding RGA, I held M&A roles at both General Atlantic LLC (GA) and Berkery, Noyes & Co. (BNC). At GA, I was responsible for deal prospecting, transaction structuring, as well as value added portfolio work. At BNC I specialized in serving large and mid-sized information providers in the U.S. and international markets with strategic mergers & acquisitions, corporate and asset divestitures, strategic research, and valuations

I am a licensed CPA in New York and Washington, DC and hold the PFS designation for my expertise in Personal Finance and a CFF for my accreditation in Financial Forensics. I also maintain the CGMA designation for my experience in Global Management Accounting.

Outside of work, I'm a Trustee/Board Member at Temple Beth-El of Great Neck as well as a Board Member at the Village of Russell Gardens Homeowners Association and the Treasurer of the United Parent Teachers Council (www.uptc.org).

I've co founded and invested in healthcare and technology platforms including a Saas database management platform for the tissue banking market and an umbilical cord blood bank. I also founded an accounting and tax advisory practice which I sold in 2012.

About our Firm

RGA Investment Advisors, LLC is an independent investment management firm. The Company builds client portfolios with a low turnover, long-term investment strategy focused on identifying fundamentally attractive securities.

What’s Out There

Experienced investors know that financial markets are cyclical. Unfortunately, people too often put emotional interest ahead of financial prudence. Having worked through the dot.com and real estate bubbles, we’ve seen first hand how reactionary thinking breeds instability and leads to booms and busts. Worse yet, the financial industry plays its own dangerous game. Professionals whose livelihood depends on the generation of commissions are less likely to engage in prudent management. Firms facing this conflict of interest will seek their own benefit at the expense of the client, often herding people into opaque structures or using product sales to churn their clients’ accounts. In this system, there is no arbiter; no accountability. We think there is a better way.

What We Believe In

At RGA, we believe the financial industry should forge a trust between advisor and stakeholder. We see ourselves as stewards of our clients’ hard earned wealth, determined to focus first and foremost on our clients’ interests. We will never sell results to begin a relationship; instead, we seek people who share our core philosophy and vision. Our clients are long-term thinkers who understand that wealth management is a marathon, not a sprint. While outcomes matter, our clients believe, first, in our process.

Why RGA?

We have one simple and transparent fee, and we sell absolutely no products of any kind. We place great emphasis on understanding each client’s long-term goals, and we invest with an eye toward the future, creating a realistic path toward meeting and exceeding long-term needs. We aim to minimize fees and tax consequence while maximizing our clients’ ultimate ability to compound wealth. It is our mission to grow alongside our clients, not at their expense. Just as we seek healthy, long-term investments, so do we hope to create client relationships that last a lifetime.
