About Me
As a seasoned financial advisor, Jon Munson CPA, PFS delivers technical expertise in the financial industry. For over 20 years, he has guided clients on investment, tax, and other financial matters, helping them establish financial security. Prior to leveraging his expertise to launch Montlake Financial, Jon held CFO positions in both the golf industry and real estate development.
An avid golfer, he declares he has never played a golf course he didn’t enjoy and feels a distinct camaraderie with fellow golfers. When not serving clients or driving his golf ball down the fairway, Jon likes spending time with his partner, Corinna, and their two adult children.

We have a no-cost, no obligation process and show you exactly how our team simplifies financial planning to help you realize your dreams. Our Process:
STEP 1 – INITIAL PHONE MEETING: Before committing your time or ours, this 15-minute phone call enables us to explore whether your situation matches our expertise.
STEP 2 – FIRST OFFICE MEETING: The purpose of this meeting is to gain clarity on your goals, concerns, and unique financial situation.
STEP 3 – OUR ANALYSIS: This is where the magic happens! We apply our decades of experience and thousands of hours of training and mentoring by the industry’s top experts to answer these questions:
❓Are you on track to achieve your financial goals?
❓Are you overpaying your taxes?
❓Can your portfolio be improved?
❓Can you eliminate, or reduce, threats to your retirement and future financial independence?
STEP 4 – SECOND OFFICE MEETING: Here the proverbial rubber hits the road. During this meeting, we provide detailed answers to the four questions and outline the path to achieving your financial goals. You gain insight into your current financial situation and see, in dollars and cents, how our firm can improve your position.
STEP 5 – SLEEP ON IT: We have worked in the Valley of the Sun for more than 20 years and are in no rush for you to make a decision. In considering whether we should work together, we encourage prospective clients to answer the following questions:
❓Do I like/trust/respect the team at Montlake Financial?
❓Will the benefits they provide exceed their cost?
❓Do I understand and agree with their investment philosophy?
❓Do their recommendations make sense to me?
STEP 6 – THIRD MEETING/PAPERWORK: At this time, we address any outstanding questions. If you are ready, we initiate the paperwork to begin our partnership. Prior to this meeting, you will have received a detailed explanation of this process and answers to previous questions and/or concerns. This simply gives you another opportunity to seek additional information and gain peace of mind.

✅ “FIFTY PLUS” DEMOGRAPHIC: We do our best work with individuals and couples over age 50 who are focused on retirement or achieving financial independence.
