About Joseph Boughan, CFP®
Hi, I'm Joseph Boughan, Founder and Financial Planner of Parkmount Financial Partners.I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts, surrounded by family and great teachers. I learned early on that if you work hard, stay uncompromisingly honest, and go the extra mile to take care of people and put their interests first, you're ahead of 90% of the rest of the world. That simple philosophy is woven into the foundation and purpose of my firm.
I bring deep experience from working with nationally top-ranked wealth management firms, where I spent several years practicing the principles of financial planning in a corporate environment and earned a reputation with clients for objectivity and empathy.
I ultimately decided to leave and start Parkmount Financial Partners because I believe that as an independent, fee-only advisor, I can better align with my clients' needs, free of the sales pressure and product emphasis often pushed in a corporate setting.
I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor, and a member of the XY Planning Network and the Financial Planning Association® (FPA®). I specialize in working with corporate professionals and families planning for retirement, often beginning to work with clients around ages 45-60 to help them get a head start on their future, though I work with a variety of other clients as well. I also have a lot of experience with employees at public Biotechnology and Defense Contracting Firms.
We begin every relationship by listening. I spend a lot of time asking questions and understanding your thoughts, plans, worries, hopes, and dreams so we can build a plan that truly reflects what matters most to you.

Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email support@wealthtender.com with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
