About Me

Larry Bassell has always had an interest in personal finance, and served as the VP of a major retail organization. But after 15 years in this position, he saw an opportunity to reinvent himself and turn his life-long interest in finance into a new career. He’s been in the financial industry for 22 years now, with 17 of those years spent working with Mike, the other financial advisor here at KOHR Financial. His personal and professional experience allow him to look ahead for his clients, and offer advice to prepare them for any roadblocks that might arise in their own financial journeys.

Larry grew up in Woodmere, NY, just outside of NYC. He attended Tulane University and Babson College, and has received both a BA and an MBA. He’s also received his Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) designation. Larry now lives in Rancho Santa Margarita in Orange County, CA, with his wife Wendy. Together, they have two daughters, Jennifer and Alison; a grandson, Theo; and a granddaughter, Lucy.

He’s a sports enthusiast, and enjoys playing golf and tennis, as well as working out at the local gym. Larry is actively involved in his community and many charitable organizations, including the Alzheimer’s Association of Orange County; he’s served as Sponsorship Chairperson for The Walk to End Alzheimer’s in support of this organization. He also maintains membership in many professional organizations, including Toastmasters International, Orange County LeTip, and NAIFA Orange County, for which he’s served as President, and Tulane Alumni of Orange County Co-President.

Larry is passionate about connecting with his clients on a personal level, and he is tenacious about helping them pursue their goals. He enjoys nothing more in his work than helping his clients succeed.
