About Mark Sanaiha, CFP®, CWS®
Hi, I'm Mark Sanaiha. I'm the Founder and Wealth Advisor at Macallen Capital, a financial planning and wealth management practice based in Phoenix, Arizona. This firm has been a long time coming.
It started during the Great Financial Crisis, watching my parents navigate one of the hardest periods of their lives. They were small business owners in construction and real estate. Hardworking people who thought they had the right help in place. When I started asking questions about their finances, I found out their advisor had been charging them 2% a year to hold a target date fund and hadn’t called them in nearly two years.
That moment stayed with me. It took years, but I eventually built the firm I wished they’d had access to. One where clients actually hear from their advisor, know exactly what they’re paying, and have a plan built around their life, not a template.
The Path to Macallen Capital
I’ve spent 10 years in financial services, with 8 of those as a dedicated advisor. I had the unique opportunity while studying at Northern Arizona University, where I was one of a select group of students flown to Omaha to meet Warren Buffett. That afternoon with "The Oracle" left a permanent mark on my approach to disciplined, value-driven investing.
My career has been about building and managing at scale, with people at the center of it the whole time. Before spinning off in 2021, my partner and I built a practice to over $1 billion in assets. Following that, I rebuilt a practice to serve 145 families & businesses with approximately $475 million in AUM. Today, I am "starting over" by choice. I launched “Mac Cap” to strip away the distractions of large-scale corporate firms and return to what matters: proactive, deeply personal guidance for a select group of families.
Beyond the Numbers
I live in Phoenix with my supportive wife, Samantha, and our precious dog—the firm's namesake—Macallen or “Mac”. When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me on the golf course, camping, traveling with family, or checking out a new restaurant.

About Macallen Capital
Macallen Capital is a wealth management and financial planning firm based in Phoenix, Arizona, founded by Mark Sanaiha. We help families & small business owners seeking financial clarity for the moments that matter most.Who We Serve
We work with pre-retirees and retirees navigating the shift from earning a paycheck to living off what they've built, and with small business owners looking for diversification, and those who have experienced a windfall.
How We Do It
We start by understanding what you actually want your money to do for your life, then build around. From there, we handle the ongoing work, whether that's IRMAA and Medicare planning, social security coordination, Roth conversion timing, or a tax-aware withdrawal strategy.
Our process is custom tailored for each client and revisited as situations change.
Why Choose Us
We're fee-only, which means our only compensation comes directly from clients. No commissions, no products to sell, and no incentive except helping you get peace of mind. As a fiduciary, every recommendation we make is legally required to serve your best interest, not just be suitable for it.

Wealthtender® is a trusted, independent financial directory and educational resource governed by our strict Editorial Policy, Integrity Standards, and Terms of Use. We Want Your Voice to be Heard
Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email support@wealthtender.com with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
