About Mary Masters, AIF®, PPC™
Hi, I'm Mary Masters. With 25+ years in financial planning, I’ve seen what happens when people get great advice — and what happens when they don’t. That’s what drives me every day.I’m a Financial Planner, Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®), Professional Plan Consultant (PPC™). Those credentials reflect real depth across the situations my clients actually face — from growing a business and managing a 401(k) plan, to navigating a divorce, to building a retirement that lasts.
What makes our firm truly different is that I partner with my husband Don Masters, CPA, to offer comprehensive financial planning and tax preparation under one roof. Your investment strategy, retirement plan, estate goals, and tax returns are built together — not handed off to strangers who don’t talk to each other. Most clients have never experienced that level of coordination, and once they do, they don’t go back.
I also work with individuals going through divorce who need a financial expert in their corner — someone who can model settlement scenarios, protect long-term interests, and make sure decisions made today don’t create problems ten years from now.
My clients are typically business owners, families, and individuals who have worked hard to accumulate wealth and now want to make sure it’s working as hard for them. I’m fee-only and fiduciary, which means I’m paid by you — not by commissions — and I’m required to put your interests first, always.
Our clients are a diverse group located all over the US and locally in Statesville, NC and Wilkesboro, NC. We are very comfortable meeting virtually.
If you have accumulated significant assets, own a business, are approaching retirement, or expect an inheritance, it may be worth determining whether your investment, tax, and estate planning strategies are working together as effectively as they could be.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me scuba diving or in the garden — both remind me that the best outcomes come from patience, preparation, and knowing when to go deep.

What to expect in the first meeting
What to Expect in the First Meeting Many of the people who contact us already have an advisor, a CPA, or both. What they often discover is that their investment strategy, tax planning, retirement planning, and estate planning are being handled separately. The purpose of our first meeting is to determine whether those pieces are working together as effectively as they could be. We'll discuss: -Your current financial priorities -Upcoming tax, retirement, inheritance, or business events -Potential gaps between your investment, tax, and estate planning strategies -Whether a more coordinated approach could add value Even if we never work together, most people leave the conversation with a clearer understanding of the opportunities and risks they may not have previously considered.Offers Investment Management

We Want Your Voice to be Heard
Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
