Matt Bowden, a Canton native, joined RFC Financial Planners in 2017 because of the positive reputation that they have in the community and how the RFC team focuses on exceeding clients’ needs and upholding the highest standard of service. Matt is passionate about following a disciplined, rules-based approach for client’s personalized financial plans. He believes in a simple, repeatable process to help remove emotions from investing to organize, simplify, and plan for the financial success of our clients. His mission is to be a student of life and to educate others about the profound, positive impact that sound financial planning has on peoples’ lives and for their families.
Matt’s passion for helping others achieve financial health was lit during his elementary years, where he observed the challenges of how disabilities of loved ones can affect family and finances. This great challenge led to helping start a small business at the age of 8 with the rest of his family. Ultimately, this drove Matt to help people to the fullest and best of his abilities by adding value to a client’s overall financial picture to help them avoid the deep emotional scars that financial mismanagement can cause.
Matt majored in Business Management and went on to obtain his Master’s in Business Administration from Cleary University, graduating Cum Laude. His areas of knowledge include Portfolio Investment Management (with a focus on Values Based Investing), Retirement Planning, Estate Planning, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, Long Term Care Insurance, and Tax Planning. Matt is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a Registered Securities Representative, and Investment Advisor Representative who holds his Series 7 registration. He also holds his Life, Health and Annuity insurance licenses, as well as the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) and Charted Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designations.
Matt enjoys spending time with his wife Andrea, daughter Na Hee, son Thomas, and their two Brittany Spaniels, Charlie and Barkley. He is also an avid Detroit and Pittsburgh sports fan who loves to travel, use his smokehouse, and host gatherings for family and friends.
Outside of the office, Matt focuses on giving back to his community through serving at Therapeutic Riding Inc. where he can make a difference in the lives of those with disabilities to help improve their confidence and self-esteem in all areas of their lives.

Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
