About Paul A. Caylor, CFP®
Hi, I’m Paul Caylor, CFP®, founder of Prudent Wealth. I specialize in helping engineers and analytical professionals bring structure, analysis, and clarity to the financial decisions that shape their future.I’ve spent more than 30 years in financial services and earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 2003. Over the years, I’ve learned that good financial planning isn’t about looking at investments, taxes, retirement, or insurance in isolation. The pieces are interconnected, and good decisions come from understanding how they work together.
That philosophy led me to establish Prudent Wealth in 2020. Today, we use a comprehensive, planning-first approach that integrates retirement, taxes, investments, estate planning, insurance, employee benefits, and the other financial decisions our clients encounter throughout their lives.
I particularly enjoy working with engineers because I appreciate the way analytical people approach decisions. My role isn’t simply to tell clients what to do. I want them to understand the reasoning, assumptions, tradeoffs, and potential consequences behind the recommendations we make together.
I grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin, earned my Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communications from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, and spent more than two decades living in Colorado before moving to Huntsville, Alabama in 2023. Prudent Wealth operates virtually, allowing us to work with clients throughout the United States.
Outside of work, I’m the father of two adult children and share my home with my two dogs. I enjoy exploring Huntsville, traveling, live music and theater, and, as someone who grew up in Green Bay, I’m still a Packers fan.
After more than three decades in this profession, what I enjoy most is helping clients move from uncertainty to understanding—so they can make important financial decisions with greater confidence.

About Prudent Wealth
Financial Planning Built for EngineersPrudent Wealth is a financial planning firm built specifically for engineers and analytical professionals. Based in Huntsville, Alabama and serving clients virtually throughout the U.S., we bring structure, analysis, and clarity to the financial decisions that shape your future.
Our approach is planning-first. We believe investments should not be managed in isolation from the rest of your financial life. Your retirement strategy, taxes, investments, estate plan, insurance, employee benefits, and other financial decisions are interconnected. Comprehensive financial planning provides the framework for coordinating those decisions.
Who We Work With
We specialize in working with engineers and analytical professionals, particularly those approaching or transitioning into retirement. Our clients tend to appreciate data, thoughtful analysis, clearly explained assumptions, and understanding the tradeoffs behind important financial decisions.
We work best with people who want an ongoing planning relationship rather than someone simply to manage an investment portfolio. Investment management is available as part of our broader financial planning relationship.
Our Approach
Financial planning is not a one-time event. Life changes, tax laws change, markets change, and your priorities evolve. We use an ongoing, structured planning process to evaluate where you are, identify opportunities and potential risks, and help you make informed decisions as circumstances change.
Our goal is not to make your financial life more complicated. It is to organize the complexity, evaluate the alternatives, and give you a clearer framework for making decisions with confidence.

We Want Your Voice to be Heard
Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email support@wealthtender.com with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
