About Ryan McCarthy, CPA, CFP®
I help successful professionals, retirees, business owners, and families make smarter financial decisions through integrated financial planning, investment management, and tax expertise. As a CPA, CFP® professional, and Wealth Advisor with McCarthy Asset Management, I believe the best financial advice considers the entire picture. Investment decisions affect taxes. Tax decisions affect retirement. Retirement decisions affect long-term wealth and legacy goals. Too often, these areas are addressed separately, creating unnecessary complexity and missed opportunities. My goal is to help clients bring these pieces together into a coordinated strategy that supports the outcomes they want to achieve.
Before joining McCarthy Asset Management, I worked at PwC, one of the world's largest professional services firms, where I advised high-net-worth individuals and families on complex tax matters. That experience provided valuable insight into how thoughtful tax planning can improve long-term financial outcomes and reinforced my belief that wealth management should extend well beyond investment selection alone.
Today, I work closely with clients to develop personalized strategies for financial planning, investment management, retirement planning, tax planning, charitable giving, and wealth preservation. Whether someone is preparing for retirement, managing significant assets, navigating a major life transition, or seeking greater clarity around their financial future, I strive to provide practical advice, thoughtful guidance, and a steady hand through every stage of life.
As part of a family-owned advisory firm founded in 1999, I have the privilege of building on a long tradition of serving clients with independence, integrity, and a commitment to putting their interests first. Working alongside my father, who founded the firm more than 25 years ago, has reinforced the importance of long-term relationships, trust, and personalized advice. Many of our client relationships span decades and multiple generations, and I view it as a privilege to help families navigate some of their most important financial decisions.
My philosophy is simple: good financial decisions are rarely made in isolation.
The most successful outcomes often come from coordinating investments, taxes, retirement planning, and long-term goals within a comprehensive strategy. Rather than focusing on short-term market movements, I help clients stay disciplined, make informed decisions, and focus on the factors they can control. I believe financial planning should simplify complexity, reduce uncertainty, and give people greater confidence in their financial future.
The most rewarding part of my work is helping clients feel organized, informed, and empowered as they pursue the goals that matter most to them.

We Want Your Voice to be Heard
Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email support@wealthtender.com with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
