About Smara Savoy

Hi, I'm Smara Savoy, a Financial Planner and Investment Advisor at We Financial Group.

Born and raised in the French-speaking region of Switzerland (Suisse Romande), my career began at Nestlé after earning my master's degree. In 2013, I transferred to the U.S., where I've since lived in several states, including Ohio, before settling with my family of five in the sunny Garden State.

Along the way, I experienced firsthand the complexities of navigating finances across borders, particularly between Europe and the U.S. This curiosity led me to dive deeper into understanding how money works in America and how it differs from European financial systems.

After a successful career in HR and Talent Acquisition, I transitioned out of the corporate world and started to pursue my passion for personal finance. I became a Financial Coach and then earned my Series 65 license to join Oui Financial as a Financial Planner and Investment Advisor in late 2024.

I'm excited to help individuals and families navigate the unique challenges of cross-border financial planning with clarity and confidence!

About We Financial

We Financial is an independent financial planning and investment firm founded in 2018 by Guillaume Decalf to help French and French-American families optimize their finances in the United States and in France.

Who We Serve

We work with French people and French-American families living in the United States, whether they are new arrivals, settled for the long term, or preparing to return to France or move elsewhere in the world. Managing money as a mixed French-American family involves unique tax, legal, and economic considerations, and we bring bilingual, cross-border expertise to help simplify those decisions.

Our Services

We offer financial planning and investment advisory services, including retirement planning across U.S. and French systems, investment management, guidance on stock options and RSUs, education funding, budgeting, credit building, and estate planning coordination. New relationships typically begin with a free initial consultation, during which we discuss your situation and goals and answer your questions.

Our Philosophy

We don't sell financial products, and we don't receive commissions. We put our clients' best interests at the heart of everything we do, and we primarily invest in socially responsible funds that offer growth and sustainability, so clients always know how their money is allocated.

Advisory services are offered through We Financial Group LLC, an investment adviser registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

FAQs

Who does We Financial help?
We specialize in helping French and French-American families and individuals living in the United States navigate cross-border financial planning, including investments, taxes, and retirement decisions that span both the U.S. and France, whether you're newly arrived, settled long-term, or planning a move back to France.
Are you a fiduciary, and how does We Financial get paid?
As a registered investment adviser, we have a fiduciary responsibility to act in your best interest. We are fee-only, meaning we don't sell financial products or receive commissions. Depending on the services you choose, we're compensated through an hourly rate, a flat fee, and/or a percentage of the assets we manage for you.
Can you help me decide what to do with my stock options or RSUs?
Yes, we regularly help clients evaluate employee stock options and RSUs, weighing whether to sell or hold and how that decision fits into your broader cross-border financial plan, tax situation, and long-term goals in the U.S. and France.
