About Steven Calio, CFP®, CPFA®

Steven Calio serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of CSG Financial. He recognizes the importance of starting to plan as early as possible, with transparency and trust being key throughout the advisory relationship.

Steve currently holds his Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) certification. He earned a B.S. in Marketing from the Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics at the University of Delaware.

In his free time, Steve also serves on the board of the Societa Da Vinci, a local non-profit focused on providing educational grants and supporting cultural events around Italian heritage. Steve is also an avid traveler and hiker. One of his life's goals is to visit all 63 US national parks.

Our Story

We all began our careers at one of the largest wealth management firms in the state of Delaware.

Through our dedication to our clients’ best interests, we gradually uncovered the realities of our industry: standardized financial-plans lacking flexibility, high fees, limited access to advisors, and complex products.

It was these recurrent, yet preventable, shortcomings throughout the industry that spurred the inception of CSG Financial. We prioritize a planning-first approach, ensuring our clients’ best interests are the sole consideration when giving financial advice.

We operate on a no-commission basis, with a transparent compensation structure, and consistently adhere to a fiduciary standard in every facet of our operations.

I was hesitant to reach out to a financial advisor as I didn’t even know where to start and the thought of planning that far ahead in my future made me anxious. I was introduced to CSG Financial (specifically Shane first) through a mutual friend and have not looked back! Since the moment I met Shane he made me feel comfortable and explained things in terms I could understand. He never makes me feel pressured to make decisions, but rather helps to guide me based on my future goals! They are easily accessible when I have questions and always open to set up a quick check in. I initially sought out Zack’s help after my mother passed, as I wasn’t sure how to handle her estate. Zack went through a total education with me to help me understand how all of these moving parts worked. Because of this, I’ve been able to not only administer her estate efficiently, I’ve also been able to put together a full plan of what to do afterwards. Zack’s help has been instrumental in helping myself, and my family, have more confidence in our financials, as well as have a plan for anything that comes our way. Can’t recommend Zack enough!

What I like most about CSG and working with Steve is that they truly put client’s needs first. They started their own group to serve clients’ needs first and foremost.
