Hey there! My name is Taylor Bell. I’m the founder and CEO of Aequitas Financial, a financial planning firm made by and for members of the LGBTQ+ community.
For the past several years, I’ve been working as a financial planner in Salt Lake City, specializing in equity compensation and LGBTQ+ financial planning needs.
When I am not meeting with clients, you will find me traveling and spending time outdoors with my hubby, Chance, and our two energetic husky pups, Fen and Ezra. While home was Salt Lake City, we recently relocated to sunny Los Angeles, California, summer 2024.
At the risk of stating the obvious, Aequitas Financial is a deeply personal project.
While working at my day job, it seemed like I was either biting my tongue in response to off-color comments or hiding my personal life for fear of losing clients. Years of tiptoeing around the conservative financial services industry had me feeling weary, and I knew I needed to make a change.
This change came in the form of Aequitas Financial and a goal to create a movement to not only help all LGBTQ+ people with financial success but overall life quality.

About Aequitas Financial
Aequitas Financial is on a mission to revolutionize the financial landscape, offering a safe and inclusive space where the LGBTQ+ community can receive personalized, judgment-free financial advice tailored to our unique needs.
Are you as fed up as I am, watching our community’s money needs go unnoticed?
For example, did you know that compared to heterosexuals, LGBTQ+ people…
✔️ Earn less (about 90 cents for every dollar)
✔️ Have 16% more student loan and credit card debt
✔️ Save less - 51% have less than $5,000 in savings and 20% have no savings at all
✔️ Are less likely to be homeowners
✔️ Have lower credit scores
✔️ Incur huge bills as a result of IVF, surrogacy, adoption, and gender-affirming care
Given these additional challenges, it makes sense that twice as many LGBTQ+ people (compared to non-LGBTQ+ people) report feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and depressed about their finances.
That’s bleak as it is, but it’s even worse when you consider the fact that 55% of LGBTQ+ Americans have faced discrimination by someone in the financial services industry (that percentage goes up to 74% amongst transgender folx).
It doesn’t have to be like this.

To make Wealthtender free for readers, we earn a nominal monthly fee from financial advisors and firms in exchange for marketing services (including being featured on this profile page), subject to terms of use. This compensation creates a natural conflict of interest when we favor their promotion over others. Wealthtender is not a client of these advisors or firms. Testimonials may not be representative of other clients’ experiences and do not guarantee future performance or success.
Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
