Founder Name: Brittney

Channel Description: My channel currently focuses on ways to make money, basic personal finance information, and my own personal debt payoff journey.

What inspired you to launch your channel: I really loved watching other people’s financial videos and I already had a blog, so I thought why not try to make some videos on YouTube?

Favorite Video: My Financial Goals | How I’m Saving For My Mom’s Retirement

Why is this your favorite video: I’ve been showing my financial journey for a few videos (prior to this one), but this video is where I share my personal financial goals – including ones I haven’t told most people!

What advice do you have for future YouTube channel creators: Just get started! I wanted to wait until I had better equipment (or any equipment!) but that was just an excuse. You can honestly just record videos on your phone just to get them out! You’ll get better with practice and you can upgrade your gear later!

REL Freedom

REL Freedom

https://www.relfreedom.com/freedom-stories

Launched: September 2020 (U.S.A)

Wealthtender Profile: https://wealthtender.com/financial-podcasts/rel-freedom/

Founder Name: Mike

Podcast Description: Helping people in the real estate industry to achieve financial freedom by sharing stories of success from those in the industry. This includes agents, admin, lenders, investors, etc. from all areas of the industry.

What inspired you to launch your podcast: I’ve been in real estate both as an agent and an admin for quite a few years. I’ve experienced so many people come into the industry expecting to make big money, yet fail to gain enough traction and eventually get out of the industry altogether. I’m looking to change that.

Favorite Episode: Episode 10: Veronica Figueroa

Why is this your favorite episode: This episode actually came from a launch event we did called FreedomCon. Veronica is a very inspiring and energetic person. She talks about her journey from being a teen mom to now running one of the top real estate teams in South Florida and how she burned the boats and went all-in on her career.

What advice do you have for future podcast owners: Take some time to think through and plan out what you want it to be, yet don’t be afraid to jump in and get started. I don’t have the best equipment yet, and I know it will take some time to find my voice, yet you don’t get there without getting started first.

The Financial Key

The Financial Key

www.thefinancialkey.com

Launched: October 2020 (U.S.A)

Wealthtender Profile:

Founder Name: Ashley

Podcast Description: The Financial Key Podcast is here to help you uncover the keys you need on the road to financial independence. Tune in as Millennial Money Coach, Ashley Lee provokes the conversation of debt, side hustles, entrepreneurship, real estate, investing, and so much more. It’s time to transform your mindset, relationship, and results with money so you can live life on your own terms!

What inspired you to launch your podcast: At the beginning of my debt free journey in 2018, I relied heavily on podcasts to increase my knowledge of personal finance. I remember specifically looking for personal finance podcasts that featured a woman of color host. I was yearning to see myself reflected in the stories of others who shared my experience. I came across a limited number of podcasts that met this criterion. When I became debt free in September 2020 I decided I wanted to create the exact podcast that I had trouble finding at the beginning of my journey.

Favorite Episode: Episode 1

Why is this your favorite episode: I enjoyed Episode 1 of my podcast because my guest and I get into the conversation of student loan debt and the effect it has had on the lives of many millennials. As we discussed in the episode many of us were told that student loans were “good” debt. We didn’t fully understand the repercussions of having this debt would have on us starting families, purchasing a home, or saving for retirement. Many of my listeners could relate to this episode and were grateful that we dispelled the myth that student loans are “good” debt.

What advice do you have for future blog owners: Done is better than perfect. You don’t need the fanciest equipment to get started. Just start. No one has lived your life experiences so the secret sauce to your podcast is YOU. Have the confidence in knowing that you are telling a story that no one else can tell.

What inspired you to launch your podcast: I wanted small business owners to have a place where they could get valuable information in a quick, straight to the point podcast that is easy to understand so they can gain confidence and clarity when working with their small business finances.

Favorite Episode: Do I have the time needed to do my own bookkeeping?

Why is this your favorite episode: This is one of my favorite episodes because it goes into how to really see if you have enough time and if you are committed to do your own bookkeeping and why it may be better to outsource your bookkeeping if you are not able to make the commitment.

What advice do you have for future podcast owners: Just get started and it takes a while to get everything set up and approved before it goes live.

We geek out about talking about these topics, and we find that talking about it makes us both better. We want to encourage others to talk to their friends and family more about money as it improves everyone’s financial situations when they talk openly about money.

Favorite Episode: #028 | Minimalism + Money

Why is this your favorite episode: We love talking about living a more intentional life and finding happiness in the simple things. It doesn’t cost a lot of money to have an awesome life. Once people realize this it unlocks their potential to increase their savings rate and get to financial freedom more quickly. We love talking about the relationship between minimalism and money.

Geobreeze

Geobreeze

https://www.anchor.fm/julia-menez

Launched: October 2020 (U.S.A)

Wealthtender Profile: https://wealthtender.com/financial-podcasts/geobreeze-travel/

Founder Name: Julia

Podcast Description: A show for anyone looking to level up their travel hacking lifestyle! Travel hacking coach and speaker, Julia Menez, interviews travel hackers from all walks of life about how they approach the game of points and miles and travel for next to no cost. These conversations focus on what you won’t find just by Googling “travel hacking”, including stories from communities like women and POC who are underrepresented in larger travel hacking media.

What inspired you to launch your podcast: Google makes it seem like all travel hackers are 6’0″ white men. This demographic profile dominates Google search results for “best travel hacking blog”, but there are other (unGoogleable) ways that someone can live a travel hacking lifestyle. In the Geobreeze Travel podcast, I highlight stories from diverse travel hackers, especially ones that don’t have time to build up a huge internet presence. And diversity isn’t just gender, ethnic background, geography, age, family status, or tax bracket. Diversity and inclusion celebrate different approaches to priorities and problem-solving, with curiosity towards how others might approach these differently than you. This podcast aims to celebrate that diversity in a space that encourages everyone to connect by talking about how they got to travel for next to no cost.

Favorite Episode: Episode 4 – from getting scammed out of $20K to running an automated business empire with Colin Yurcisin

Why is this your favorite episode: In just 40 minutes, we discuss so many different ways to build a business that generates points and miles such as amazon stores, house hacking, and so much more! It shows that there are so many possibilities for building a travel hacking lifestyle.

What advice do you have for future podcast owners: Have your guests give a shoutout/ thank a friend who has been helpful in their journey. It helps to spread gratitude as well as viewership!

Take Back Retirement

Take Back Retirement

www.takebackretirement.com

Launched: October 2020 (U.S.A)

Wealthtender Profile: wealthtender.com/financial-podcasts/take-back-retirement/

Founder Name: Stephanie

Podcast Description: The money show for Gen X and baby boomer women looking for retirement advice from two fun financial planners. If you’re feeling anxious or overwhelmed by the decisions ahead of you, our experts and conversation will help you be more confident. You’re a woman looking toward “retirement” naturally feeling some anxiety. We are two financial planners who take this subject seriously (but ourselves less so). We will cut through the myths and mysteries to help you feel more confident about your choices and move toward sustainable financial stability. Through conversations, interviews with subject-matter experts, and women who have been there, you will have the information and motivation to be in control of your future. And we’ll be sure to have some fun along the way. We’re glad you’re here. Let’s dive in.

What inspired you to launch your podcast: I’ve been doing Facebook lives monthly for about 2 years. Last fall I saw a friend and the first things she said to me was, “You need to do a podcast.” I thought, how is she reading my mind? I know there are so many women who feel that money is not their thing, and it’s a big cause of stress in their lives. If we can help a few women reduce their money stress and free up their time and energy to do what they really care about, that’s a huge win! I believe – if more women were more financially secure and in control of more wealth, the world would be a better place!

Favorite Episode: Episode 2: Retire on Your Own Terms – Or Don’t!

Why is this your favorite episode: Even though the word retirement is in the title of the show, it’s not a word I really like. It seems like an outdated concept – both because we’re living longer which makes it really hard to save enough for a long period of not working AND since most baby boomers and GenX’ers really don’t want to sit in a rocking chair for 20-30 years! We want to stay involved, keep learning, and have an impact. We encourage people to think about what those options might be for them.

What advice do you have for future podcast owners: The best advice I got, from Joe Saul-Sehy, was the accept the fact that at the beginning it’s probably not going to be very good! But that’s OK, because no one’s really listening yet. Just get started, learn and improve, and stick with it!

Adventures in Mobile Homes

Adventures in Mobile Homes with Rachel Hernandez

http://www.adventuresinmobilehomes.com/podcast

Launched: June 2020 (U.S.A)

Wealthtender Profile: https://wealthtender.com/blogs/adventures-in-mobile-homes/

Founder Name: Rachel

Podcast Description: Join Rachel Hernandez (aka Mobile Home Gurl), real estate investor turned mobile home investor and best-selling author as she teaches you about the little known niche of mobile home investing. Through her stories and experiences as a mobile home investor, she’ll teach you how to create cash flow from investing in mobile homes for long-term passive income. Learn how mobile home investing can give you more time to live the kind of life where you can do the things you want to do, not have to do. And that’s what this podcast is all about.

What inspired you to launch your podcast: As a real estate investing blogger since 2007, podcasting is something that I’ve always wanted to do. I wanted to continue the tradition of telling my stories on the blog and do it through the podcast. So far, it’s been a great experience and something I enjoy doing.

Favorite Episode: Episode #2: My Mobile Home Investing Journey

Why is this your favorite episode: Here I get to share how and why I got into mobile home investing in the first place. It’s a question I get all the time!

What advice do you have for future podcast owners: Learn as much as you can in the beginning. A lot of it has to do with planning. Be sure you have a vision and overall message with the podcast. Once you have that down, it’s easier because it gives you direction. Though, there will come a point where you just have to do it. Get your message out there. If you make mistakes and need to update episodes, you can always change it up later.
