About Alex Goldberg, CFP®
Alex Goldberg, CFP® and Co-Founder of Periscope Wealth Advisors, has been interested in the topic of money since his early elementary years. After being a repeat offender of asking his parents far too often “what things cost” and “how much money people make,” they finally gave in. They found this to be a good opportunity to teach him to buy his first stocks: Disney and SPDR fund. However, they said he should not be talking about money outside of the house publicly. As it turns out, that became his life’s mission, and he happily discusses money with numerous families while working to lead them to their personal financial goals.
Alex took this interest in money into his college years. While on a Division 1 scholarship running track at Long Beach State, he majored in finance with a concentration in investments. His academic journey continued, and he earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) marks along with Series 6, Series 7, and Series 63 investment licenses.
Alex did an internship in finance for Boeing while in college during the 2008 financial crisis. It was an eye opener for Alex to see many employees of Boeing that were planning to retire – but then could not.
While corporate finance was interesting, his calling to personal finance was now clear, and he began an internship with a large financial planning firm. He was on a mission to help people that had worked their entire lives and were now hopeless about their retirement plans. Alex realized there was a significant opportunity to fill a knowledge gap for the public about financial planning – specifically for retirees.
Alex spent the next 14 years building a practice to serve his clients in all aspects of their financial lives. While a large broker-dealer was a great place to start and grow the business, Alex realized that the complexity of his clients’ financial situations required a higher degree of customization, and he wanted to personalize his financial service offerings so he could better meet his clients’ retirement needs.
This led Alex to partner with his friend and colleague who shared the same vision, to create Periscope Wealth Advisors. By merging their respective teams, Periscope Wealth Advisors combined decades of experience from multiple areas of financial planning. With the ability to leverage their collective specialized knowledge and wield cutting-edge investment planning technology, Periscope Wealth Advisors is positioned to provide its clients with the highest level of financial planning, investment management, and client service.
Alex helped develop Periscope’s Planning Process, which is a tried-and-true roadmap to help clients navigate the complexities of retirement income, investment management, tax optimization, estate planning, and the psychological challenges of retirement. One simple goal that Alex and his firm aim to achieve is to ensure their clients never have to worry about money in retirement.
On the personal side, two of Alex’s favorite activities are golf and fishing. Alex lives in Anaheim Hills, California with his wife, Hamta, and 3 children: Kian, Laila, and Niku.
While Alex will support any interest his children may have, his hope is that Periscope Wealth Advisors will be a business of intergenerational interest to at least one of his children, and it will carry on the legacy of providing financial security for generations to come. He recognizes that none of the success of Periscope Wealth Advisors would be possible without the support of his family, friends, clients, and first-class team.

We Want Your Voice to be Heard
Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email support@wealthtender.com with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
