Hi, I'm Alex Koynoff. I have been in financial services for over 14 years, with the majority spent supporting large institutions with financial reporting and accounting for their complex investment portfolios, such as pensions, 401k, insurance general accounts, university foundations and endowments.

I have brought my professional experience into the personal finance space, which gives me the opportunity to help individuals plan for their financial future.

📖 My Personal Financial Journey:

I have been managing our family's personal financial blueprint for over 10 years. After reading the book "The Millionaire Next Door", it gave me a glimpse of what planning and a goal can do. That really kicked the financial planning to the next level.

Within eight years of creating and sticking with our plan (and adjusting along the way), we reached our first milestone and became a statistic in "The Millionaire Next Door". The achievement only strengthened my interest in personal finance, the power of financial planning and how it can help so many. It all started with a goal, education, and continuous planning.

💡 Why I decided to start my own Financial Planning firm:

In 2021, I was asked by a close family member to review their finances as they were wanting to retire in the near future.

It was an eye-opening experience. Unfortunately, due to the lack of education and support, their 401k was not utilized appropriately, using inappropriate funds, in addition to multiple loan distributions during the majority of a multi-decade working career. That one mistake alone caused them to miss a substantial amount of additional retirement funds. Further, as they never had a plan, their financial house needed repair, with unpaid consumer debt, no strategy of appropriate distribution of their investments and overall, a series of many poor financial decisions over the last couple of decades. Needless to say, that was a huge miss that could have been prevented with proactive planning.

That was the sign that I needed, and I knew what I had to do. It led me to start ATK Financial Prosperity with the mission to educate first and help you map out your financial journey.

Personal finance is a crucial part of your overall well-being. Good financial habits and decisions are something we should practice on a continuous basis.

Retail workers are who make this possible. It is hard but rewarding work. My wife has been in retail for over 20 years and she truly loves her job. As a Multi-Unit Retail Leader, she gets to make a positive impact on her team and customers, while also managing all the moving parts that come with running a whole region.

Even though I haven't worked in retail in a long time (I worked at a local grocery chain in high school and college), through my wife, I feel that I have been a part of it every day since we met. A retail company also reminds me of a well-integrated financial plan. All the parts need to work together for the product to be in the store, so a great customer experience can be delivered in the end.

Just like the retail industry needs to constantly adapt to new challenges and an ever changing landscape, financial planning does the same for your unique situation.

Money is an emotional topic. It is not always easy to discuss your personal financial situation at home, let alone with somebody outside.
