About Christopher Clepp
I'm Chris Clepp. Chicago native, married to Katie, father to three, and a financial advisor who has spent more than two decades helping business owners make smart money decisions.I work with Gen X and Gen Y business owners and HENRYs, the High Earners who are Not Rich Yet. Not because they're the easy clients. The industry mostly ignores them. If you haven't had your liquidity event, if the wealth is still tied up in the business you bet on every single day, a lot of firms don't want to deal with the complexity. That complexity is exactly where I can help the most. The younger you are, the more decades of runway sit in front of you, and the more a good decision today compounds.
Here's something I believe that some of my peers would push back on. Money should be the servant, not the master. Most people let it run the show. They stack it up so they can keep score, and they never stop to ask what "enough" actually looks like. My job is to help you answer that question, then build toward it.
I run my own business too, so I know the drill. The long hours. The quiet worry that you're building a job you can't leave. The feeling that the business is on track but you aren't. I've stepped on some of those landmines myself. Part of what you're paying me for is a guy who already knows where they're buried.
The work runs through what we call the Abundant Wealth Process. We get clear on your vision first: what you want your money to do, and what a good life looks like when the work becomes optional. Then we handle the rest. The tax strategy, the investments, the risk and exit planning, and the thousand small decisions between here and there. The plan itself is never the point. It's wrong the moment we print it, because life doesn't hold still. The value is in the ongoing conversation, the one that lets you make good decisions in the moment without lying awake wondering if you just blew it.
I'll also tell you what you need to hear. If you're about to make a bad call, you'll know where I stand. It's still your decision, always. My job is to give you enough good information to make a wise one.
When I'm not working, I'm with Katie and the kids, coaching my sons' baseball team, cooking, working out, or getting outside. I take real time off, on purpose. You can't fill someone else's cup when your own is empty. I try to eat my own cooking.
If you're a business owner who wants your money working toward a life you don't need a vacation from, let's talk.

About Building Towards Wealth
At Building Towards Wealth, we do financial planning for business owners who want autonomy beyond their business, a life that keeps working whether or not the business does.We keep our client base small on purpose. You get our full focus, not a product pitch. We serve you and only you. We handle the moving parts so you can stay focused on running your company, and we're straight with you about what matters and what's just noise.
It starts with one question: what does "enough" look like for you? Once we know where we're headed, we build the plan to get there. We keep more of what you earn out of the IRS's hands along the way, protect what you've built, and prepare for the day you decide to step back.
Come build a future you don't need a vacation from.

Wealthtender® is a trusted, independent financial directory and educational resource governed by our strict Editorial Policy, Integrity Standards, and Terms of Use. We Want Your Voice to be Heard
Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email support@wealthtender.com with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
