About Me
Hi, I'm David Mathias, Certified Financial Planner™ and Retirement Income Certified Professional®.
The people I help typically fall into one of two categories: Career Builders & Career Finishers.
(1) Career Builders are usually ages 25 to 45 focused on saving, growing incomes, building wealth, and raising families.
(2) Career Finishers are usually ages 45 - 65 focused on maximizing their peak earning years, paying for college, and planning for retirement.
Whether you're a Career Builder or a Career Finisher, there are a lot of moving pieces where I can help you make informed decisions for yourself and your family. A few of these moving pieces include investing, tax planning, early and late state college planning, and retirement income planning, among others.
For Career Builders, often a good fit to work together are individuals or couples with incomes of $150,000+. They often need help maximizing employer benefits and balancing savings goals and spending priorities. You may have questions like, “how much should I be saving and in what type of accounts?” Or “should I be using Roth or Pre-tax contributions in my 401(k)?” Some of my Career Builder clients are self-employed, Real Estate agents, new investors, or employees with Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Employee Stock Purchase Plans (ESPP) that need help managing their employer stock compensation.
For Career Finishers, often a good fit to work together are individuals or couples with incomes of $200,000+, and investment portfolios of $500,000 or more. They’re often looking for help paying for college, saving for retirement, managing their investments, and planning their retirement income. You may have questions like, “when can we retire?”, “how much income can we take from our portfolio?”, or “what should we be doing now to prepare for retirement?”
How I get paid:
Career Builders typically work with me in a combination of subscription financial planning & fee-based investment services.
For Career Finishers, I typically do a flat fee financial planning analysis upfront to build a foundation of advice and planning. After the initial flat fee analysis, Career Finishers can decide if they would like to work together long-term in a fee-based investment relationship.
Many of my clients are California based but I work virtually with clients across the country. Whether you’re a Career Builder or Career Finisher, I invite you to book a complimentary meeting to get acquainted.
