About Me
Hi, I'm David Warshaw.In 2003, I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a double major in finance and accounting. After hearing a guest lecture from a local financial planner, I was inspired and had an inkling that this profession was for me. I officially started my financial advisory career the year after with the firm now known as Ameriprise Financial.
Over time, I developed an entrepreneurial spirit and launched The WealthPlan in 2011 as an independent advisor. In addition to being a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, I hold both the Chartered Financial Consultant and Charted Life Underwriter designations.
I spent the first 40 years of my life in Long Island, NY, and then relocated to Florida in 2021 with my wife Diana and newborn daughter Sophia (lil’ Soph Sophs).
Outside of work and family, I have many varied interests. I'm a music lover and am constantly exploring new artists on Spotify. I have been dancing for fun since childhood and used to break dance in a university club. I hit my peak of “fame” by appearing on Season 2 of “So You Think You Can Dance.” In short, I'm a fun party guest.
I also enjoy watching TV shows and films, with his favorite subgenres being action, horror, and martial arts. Being a travel lover, I have been privileged to visit over 15 countries. My favorites include Africa, New Zealand, and Ireland. Lastly, I have performed stand-up comedy a handful of times since I enjoy making people laugh.

Shortly after graduating college and starting my career I wrote an extensive financial plan. I shared this plan with about 10 financial planners. Some of them took the time to reach out to me but would not work with me since I did not have a substantial amount of money to invest. I understood, business is business. Dave not only reached out to me but was enthusiastic about working together. It wasn’t about the money; it was about establishing a relationship that could be built over time. Well here we are 8 years later and a lot more zeros have been added to my net worth.
Dave is a financial planner. He offers a lot of value outside of your investments and tools to help you manage everything. Most importantly, he is very engaged with his clients. To me, this is very important. It’s one thing to have a goal. It’s another thing to make sure you are on track to complete them.

David an I go back a way! I guess we crossed path at the perfect time. Struggling as a new divorcee/single mother, I did not have the patience for, or time to play with numbers. It was paycheck to paycheck anyway, not much left to play with! David showed me the way! Here we are 20+ years later! Always very passionate about what he does. He guides you, sets up a plan he feels will best fit your needs and helps stay on track with your goals; but he never pressures you in doing something you do not feel comfortable with. I have learned a lot from David. He set me up with a nice mixed portfolio. I don't need to "babysit" my investments. I know I am in good hands; he always makes himself available. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, caring advisor, and yes funny as well (Financial advisors are always so serious) , David is your guy!

When I went searching for a financial advisor I sent a letter to over 50 individuals. Few returned my call. Most were only interested in my money. He is a family man who is concerned about building wealth for his clients. Plus, he has been managing my money since 2012. You couldn’t ask for better. Listens, educates, and most of all cares. We have worked together for 10+ years.
