Hi. I'm Todd Pouliot. I've had several experiences in my life that have led me to a calling to help others. When I watched my father's retirement savings get reduced significantly as a result of the bankrupt company he had worked for since he was 16 and steadily ascended for 27 years, I began to take notice of the world around me. My father lost his job, his pension, and most importantly, the means to support his family. I realized through that experience that hard work pays off and some things are beyond one's control.
In another twist of fate, my father lost a small fortune in stock options, just months before retiring, because someone committed the crime of embezzlement within the company he helped build. Because of this crime, he had to continue to work for 15 more years before he felt he could retire. Although his hard work had paid off, outside forces harmed not only his retirement portfolio but also his family and his future.
Though his story ends well, the lessons have been proved many times. One of the most important things I learned was: Find an advisor who will professionally work for you personally. It is important not to put all your eggs in one basket and you may need help planning for retirement from someone other than your employer.
My wife, Jennifer, and I are actively involved with the Northern Ohio Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We ask that you join us annually at the Cleveland Wine Opener to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In addition, Jennifer and I host an annual volleyball tournament in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio called Bump, Set, Cure Found to raise additional dollars for this worthwhile cause. We will continue this fight until CF stands for Cure Found!

After I learn about you and share our holistic financial planning process at Gateway Financial, if you find that my services might be a good fit, I’ll suggest that we meet for a “Get Organized” meeting to get “Financially” organized. We will follow that with a “Goal Exploration” meeting to uncover your primary life goals. Our last meeting will be a “Plan Review” where It will be my job to then share suggested solutions to move you toward your goals.
Meanwhile, I’ve provided a link to my website with a video that talks about how fee-only services are different from the standard brokerage firm's financial planning model. I have also included our Financial Process, a step-by-step guide to achieving your goals, and what you are going to do to meet them.
Finally, we believe transparency & trust are at the center of any healthy relationship. That's why we've laid out exactly how our subscription works on our website. My goal is to always put your interests above all else, to guide you effectively toward your key life goals.

About our Firm
Where do you start? Our clients are looking for holistic and comprehensive Financial Planning that encompasses both Tax and Estate Planning. Our clients have an expectation that all of this works together in harmony.
Our clients are Highly Compensated Employees (HCEs) who make more than $150,000 per year and can save money but are subject to different 401(k) rules. Retirement plans, HSAs, stock options, IRAs, eliminating debt, and reducing taxes all require planning. We normally see high net worth individuals come to us who have gathered assets along the way due to diligent savings, but ask themselves, “have we done the best we could?”.
Every decision we make is framed in how we can deepen value for you. You own the relationship and that is why this website was created for you, the clients, not us!
To make Wealthtender free for readers, we earn a nominal monthly fee from financial advisors and firms in exchange for marketing services (including being featured on this profile page), subject to terms of use. This compensation creates a natural conflict of interest when we favor their promotion over others. Wealthtender is not a client of these advisors or firms. Testimonials may not be representative of other clients’ experiences and do not guarantee future performance or success.

Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
